Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US. As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations. Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow. About the role You will focus on friction points around primarily backend issues for all teams in Engineering (90 Engineers). How should we do inter-service testing? Some teams are using monorepo, others aren’t. How can we bring overall stability up? Generally steering BE in the right direction. In the near future, standardising things across all of Engineering and bringing R&D teams (another 40 Engineers and Researchers) closer. You will have ownership of projects that span quarters, requiring you to have the ability to break a problem down into small steps that can be delivered and validated iteratively. You will evaluate your own work, leveraging our data pipeline and frameworks that we have established to understand the impact your features have on our commercial objectives and pivoting where necessary. You will consider the long-term direction of Engineering, making sure that we are developing the engineering capabilities that will allow us to stay ahead of the challenges we are likely to encounter in 12-18 months' time. You will work end-to-end, from our client application written in React to our monolithic backend written in Python, and lead projects that span across multiple teams. What we're looking

About the role As a Senior Frontend Engineer on our Website team, you'll be a co-owner of the platform behind synthesia.io : the component library, content model and rendering stack that every page on our marketing site is built from. You'll shape direction and make key technical decisions with the team, likely with a focus area of your own but context across the whole system. This is a hands-on engineering role, and your primary output is high-quality component and schema code, plus the tooling that lets others build with it. Millions of people visit synthesia.io every month, and it is one of the main ways we win new customers. That comes with real responsibility. The decisions you make are seen at scale, and we set the quality bar accordingly. The defining challenge of this role is composability: a marketing site that marketers, and increasingly AI agents, can build pages with, without breaking design, performance or SEO. You can expect to: Build, scale and evolve our section library: the Astro components, Sanity schemas and design tokens that let us compose marketing pages consistently and accessibly. Own the content model. Design schemas that resist misuse, so an editor, or an agent, can build a page that is

About the role The Data team manages the complete lifecycle of data for researchers - from sourcing and large-scale processing to delivering datasets that power our models. Data sits at the heart of our Research efforts and enables all other teams. As part of the Data team, you’ll work with over a million hours of video and audio data. This role exists at the intersection of applied research, data engineering, and ML infrastructure rather than being a traditional research position . You’ll build the world’s best human-centric data lake by collaborating closely with our model training teams. By understanding their requirements, you’ll extract new features and annotations that elevate our datasets. You should be passionate about enhancing model performance through high-quality, accurate datasets. Our infrastructure and pipelines are in great shape, and this role provides room to not only enhance them but also influence the team’s longer-term strategy. What we're looking for: A strong background in data-centric, applied Machine Learning, with hands-on experience improving model performance through data quality, curation, labeling, and evaluation rather than model architecture alone Experience working on the data la

About the role Synthesia's long-term vision is to build the best human-interactive models: systems that don't just talk to people, but perceive and respond to them, reacting to a user's actions and emotions, not only their words. Today over 60,000 businesses rely on our platform, and the next leap in what we can offer them depends on models that combine text, audio, and video into a single real-time interactive experience. As a Staff Research Engineer, you'll join the Voice team within our 40+ person R&D department, but your scope will extend well beyond voice. You'll help define and drive that broader vision across teams, proposing ambitious research directions and taking direct ownership of the design and implementation of its most critical components. You'll work directly with our voice lead and collaborate tightly with our video teams and other senior members of the org. Concretely, you'll work on voice to voice models that produce text and voice simultaneously. Models that can reason, interrupt the user with back channeling and talk. Models that feel like you are having a natural conversation with, without the feeling of turn taking that is dominant in current speech to speech models. Your role would be

By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) understand our customers’ greatest pain points and design end-to-end solutions to address them. FDSEs solicit constant feedback on their work from both customers and colleagues, improving our products over time with rapid iteration cycles. Each mission presents different challenges, from the regulatory environment to the nature of the data to the user population. You will work to accommodate all aspects of an environment to drive real technical outcomes for our customers. Core Responsibilities FDSEs responsibilities look similar to those of a startup CTO: you’ll work in small teams and own end-to-end execution of high stakes projects. A day might span discussing architecture with fellow engineers, wrangling massive-scale data, coding a custom web app, speaking with customer executives, or establishing strategy for your team. Do you aspire to
