About the Team OpenAI's mission is to ensure that AGI benefits all of humanity. The Business Systems team helps make that mission possible by building the internal products and platforms that allow OpenAI to operate with speed, reliability, and care. We build internal applications and workflows for Finance and Supply Chain. Our work spans product discovery, React and TypeScript interfaces, Python services and APIs, data models, workflow orchestration, enterprise integrations, and the systems that connect people to systems of record. We work directly with the people who use these products and care about correctness, permissions, auditability, and production reliability. Examples of our work include building an integration platform for supply chain integrations, integrations with Oracle Fusion and Zip, contract intelligence applied to B2B revenue recognition, and Temporal-based agentic workflows for credit checks, duplicate bank detection, and invoice triaging. We turn these efforts into reusable patterns that can support many workflows, rather than one-off automations. About the Role We are looking for Product Engineers to build internal applications end to end. This role spans product discovery, user experience, frontend, backend services, data models, workflow orchestration, and integrations with order management, fulfillment, and supply chain systems. You will take a problem from a first conversation with a Finance or Supply Chain partner through design, implementation, rollout, and production support. Strong candidates combine product judgment with engineering depth. You should be comfortable moving between a React interface, a Python API, a durable workflow, and an integration with an enterprise system. You should be able to ship a useful first version quickly while building the foundations for reuse, security, and long-term maintainability. Direct AI experience is helpful, but the core requirement is strong product engineering judgment and reliable execution. I

About the Team At OpenAI, our User Safety & Risk Operations (USRO) team helps protect our products and users from abuse, fraud, safety risks, and other forms of misuse. We operate at the front line of real-world safety and risk management, translating user and operational signals into timely decisions, effective interventions, and improvements to our systems. This role sits on a team focused on building operational capacity for new, ambiguous, and fast-moving areas of work. The team defines what needs to be built, creates the operating model to support it, and works with partner teams to make the work scalable and durable over time. About the Role We are seeking a Device Safety & Risk Operations Specialist to build the safety operating model for a new category of consumer hardware. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can turn emerging product risks and incomplete requirements into practical workflows, controls, launch plans, and durable systems. You will define how product-safety incidents, critical escalations, regulated cases, and privacy-sensitive issues should be identified, investigated, escalated, resolved, and learned from. You will also establish operational requirements for case management, data access, decision logging, quality assurance, monitoring, and cross-functional response. You will stand up priority workflows through launch and early operations, then help transition them into durable homes across USRO and partner teams. The right person combines deep operational judgment with strong technical and hardware product fluency. They can move from executive-level risk framing to detailed workflow design, tabletop exercises, launch readiness, frontline guidance, and post-launch improvement. Location / work model: San Francisco, CA; hybrid, 3 days/week in-office. Please note: This role may involve exposure to sensitive or concerning material. Strong discretion, judgment, and resilience are essential. In This Role, You Will:
About the Team OpenAI’s Compute organization turns ambitious AI research into real-world capability by delivering the compute infrastructure behind our most advanced models. The team works across software, hardware, facilities, operations, and engineering disciplines to make enormous amounts of compute available, reliable, and efficient. As the demand for frontier AI grows, so does the complexity of the systems required to support it. Scaling this infrastructure means solving problems that cut across distributed systems, ML infrastructure, GPU fleets, power, cooling, networking, manufacturing, supply chain, and data center delivery. Our work is focused on expanding the compute foundation that enables OpenAI to train more capable models, including systems like GPT-5.6, and make frontier AI available to more people, products, and workflows. We’re looking for exceptional people across many disciplines to help build the next generation of AI infrastructure at a scale few organizations have attempted. About the Role We are hiring across a broad range of roles to help design, build, scale, and operate OpenAI’s compute infrastructure. Depending on your background, you may work on large-scale distributed systems, ML infrastructure, hardware systems, manufacturing, supply chain, data center development, or the physical engineering systems required to bring massive compute capacity online. You’ll work with teams across research, engineering, hardware, operations, and infrastructure to solve high-impact problems at extraordinary scale. This may include improving system reliability, accelerating deployment timelines, increasing operational efficiency, designing new infrastructure, or helping bring new compute platforms and facilities from concept to production. This is an opportunity to work on one of the most important infrastructure challenges in AI: building the compute foundation required to train and serve increasingly capable frontier models.
