At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Automation - Foundations team, you will lead the re-platforming of the data layer underneath Vanta’s entire compliance product. This is a migration that spans multiple teams, has to preserve every public API contract along the way, and cannot lose a single customer’s evidence while it happens. Foundations is Vanta’s data platform team. We ingest security and compliance data from across our customer’s environments, currently tens of thousands of resources per second, with single-customer bursts running into the millions. We store the data, catalog it, make it queryable, and turn it into evidence that has to survive a real SOC 2 or FedRAMP audit. We are in the middle of moving our platform from a Mongo-centric architecture to a schema-aware, Postgres-backed architecture, on a Kafka and S3 pipeline that decouples data fetching from processing. Both pipelines run in parallel today, the hard problems here are correctness under migration, eventual consistency, and multi-tenancy, in a domain where “mostly right” is not an acceptable failure mode. Visit our Vanta Engineering Blog to learn more about what our team is working on. What you'll do as a Staff Software Engineer at Vanta: Lead the migration of Vanta’s resource data model from a Mongo-centric solution to a schema-aware Postgres-backed solution and running both generations in parallel without breaking a customer integration. Drive solutions across teams that you do not own but are dependent on the platform built by your team. Design for correctness under eventual consistency with idempotent session handling, conditional writes that survive out

It takes a unified team committed to our core values to achieve this goal. Airbnb's various functions embody the company's innovative spirit and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company. The Difference You Will Make: The Service Tools team's mission is to enable Airbnb backend developers to develop, test, and maintain their code quickly and reliably. We own the standard development lifecycle for service owners — from AI-assisted development, through the build system, integration testing and code review, to how services get built for deployment. This represents Airbnb's largest cohort of developers, and you will ultimately be responsible for their productivity. As a Staff Engineer, you will set technical direction rather than only deliver against it. You will own a platform-spanning area of the developer lifecycle end to end — framing the problem, building the measurement that proves it matters, driving a roadmap with partner teams across the company, and growing the engineers who build it with you. The next 18–24 months of this platform are genuinely open: agentic development is changing what the inner loop looks like, and we want someone who wants to help decide what it should become. A Typical Day: Owning a multi-quarter, platform-spanning workstream — agentic developer workflows, intelligent build infrastructure, test excellence, codebase modernization, or developer observability — as the DRI other teams come to Advancing our AI-assisted developme

Who We Are Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together . We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. About the Role: Own how our Foundations business teams design, automate, and operate their most important workflows. Notion is growing quickly, and the processes that run our business — intake, triage, execution, approvals, escalations, reporting — need to scale without adding headcount or losing auditability. This role exists to redesign those processes end to end and to embed AI directly into them, so the work moves faster and the system stays trustworthy. What's different at Notion: you'll build on Notion as customer zero. You'll design multi-system workflows spanning Notion, Slack, email, support tooling, and internal data, then ship the custom agents, skills, and automations that run them — partnering with Finance, Legal, People, Ops, Data, and Engineering to drive real adoption, not just documentation. This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. What You'll Achieve: Redesign cross-f
