We are looking for a talented engineer to lead evaluation of startup acquisition opportunities in the AI, cloud and security space. You will drive product evaluations, prepare and manage technical architecture discussions with target groups in Product and Engineering and provide roadmap suggestions for M&A and investments for Datadog. You will be a key partner to Datadog’s C-level leadership and highly visible at the most senior levels of Datadog. The role is reporting into the Senior Director of Product Strategy and falls within the Product organization. We are looking for an innovative and strategic thinker who is passionate about the latest tech being developed by startups in the cloud, AI and security space. The ideal candidate enjoys researching and evaluating new technologies, works effectively with cross-functional teams, and communicates opinions concisely to our leadership team. Broad understanding of relevant Cloud Technologies and deep understanding of the full coverage of Datadogs current offerings is necessary. The Corporate Development team is small and values authentic, strong-willed individuals who think creatively and proactively. This role leads technical due diligence from a product and architecture perspective across our acquisition pipeline. You'll scope and stand up proof-of-concept and sandbox environments to stress-test candidate products, then give an honest, unvarnished view of their quality and depth - the kind of assessment that holds up regardless of deal momentum. You'll assess technical architecture, flag the risks and open questions that matter most early, and turn that into a clear post-acquisition integration path. Working closely with engineering, you'll keep the evaluation focused on what's actually decision-relevant, then translate the findings into strategic recommendations for leadership and help carry the integration through by partnering with the right people on the other side. What You’l
About the Team The Cloud Agents team builds product infrastructure for long-running agents in the cloud: orchestration, sandboxing and isolation, secure environment connectivity, secrets and identity, observability, reliability, and cost controls. These agents securely connect to diverse developer and customer environments and use tools to accomplish goals. We partner closely with product, research, and infrastructure teams to turn agentic capabilities into dependable platforms for OpenAI products and developers building on OpenAI. About the Role We are looking for an experienced software engineer to help build and scale our cloud agent platform. You will design and operate systems for orchestrating agents at scale. You will work closely with product engineers on ChatGPT, API, and Codex to define the right abstractions and enable them to ship products quickly. Strong backend or infrastructure experience is important; experience with Python, Rust, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or product platforms is especially helpful. In this role, you will: Design and scale the orchestration, sandboxing and storage systems that run agentic workloads for Codex, ChatGPT, and the OpenAI API. Partner with product engineers to build a platform that enables them to ship quickly and turn feedback into robust abstractions. Improve reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency for long-running agents. Deploy services that can operate across different environments and clouds. Your background might look something like: 9+ years of professional engineering experience, excluding internships, in relevant roles at technology and product-driven companies. Experience leading large-scale backend, platform, or infrastructure projects from ambiguous problem statements to production systems. Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar, and the ability to move across service, platform, and product boundaries. Strong understanding
About the role We’re looking for an engineering manager to lead a team building software systems that detect and prevent harmful misuse of frontier AI models—before incidents occur. This is a builder’s role: you’ll lead engineers shipping production services, detection pipelines, and mitigation mechanisms that protect frontier model integrity and reduce high-severity misuse risk. While this work intersects with frontier model development, security and risk, we’re explicitly seeking someone with a software engineering foundation who is comfortable building reliable systems that can operate at billions of users scale. In this role you will: Lead a team of software engineers building detection + mitigation systems for frontier model misuse, with an emphasis on model IP protection / distillation detection and emerging risk surfaces from autonomous agents. Set the technical roadmap and execution strategy: prioritize, design, ship, iterate, measure impact. Build production systems: services, pipelines, tooling, instrumentation, and automation that scale with frontier model usage. Partner deeply with Research and Product to translate evolving model capabilities into concrete tests, signals, and mitigations that can be deployed at scale. Drive strong engineering fundamentals: architecture, reliability, monitoring, performance, and operational excellence. Hire and grow an exceptional team across backend, data systems, and applied ML engineering domains as needed. Anticipate what breaks at scale as agentic workflows become more capable. You might thrive in this role if you: Experience building systems in adversarial, fast-evolving environments Are comfortable with ambiguity and novelty Have experience adjacent to security (e.g., abuse prevention, fraud, integrity, platform defense, auth/identity, malware/spam, adversarial environments) Communicate clearly and build trust quickly with senior stakeholders—pragmatic, collaborative, and calm under scrutiny. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. This team owns the search infrastructure and indexing systems powering lexical and semantic retrieval, the platform primitives for managing agent context and memories , and the scalability, performance, security, and enterprise capabilities that make all of it production-grade. Data growth is faster than ever, and the systems that power this need to rapidly evolve to support an order of magnitude growth—both in the volume of content we index and in the load that agents now place on the retrieval layer. As the Engineering Manager for this team, you'll lead a technically deep group of engineers building platform systems used by multiple product teams. Your most important customers are the Search & Context product team and the AI team (building agents on top of these primitives). You'll set the technical direction, product manage the platform scope on behalf of those customers, and make hard tradeoffs to move fast in service of product velocity — while keepi
