About the Team The Search research team focuses on building the systems that help AI systems find, retrieve, and use information from the world. We aim to make answers more useful and grounded for more than a billion ChatGPT users. About the Role We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead a broad portfolio of research and engineering programs that power search. You’ll partner closely with researchers, engineers, and product leaders to turn ambitious goals into clear plans, resolve dependencies, and move complex technical work forward. This role combines technical depth, product judgment, and hands-on execution. You’ll work across retrieval, indexing, and model improvements, while collaborating with policy, legal, and external data partners. You’ll help teams make informed tradeoffs and build practical ways of working that support a fast-moving research environment. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will: Lead programs across model training, retrieval, large-scale indexing, and search infrastructure. Translate evolving goals into prioritized workstreams with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs. Partner with research, engineering, and product leads to define requirements and make tradeoffs across scope, quality, performance, timelines, and cost. Establish program success metrics and use them to guide priorities and track improvements in coverage, answer quality, responsiveness, and trust. Identify technical and cross-functional risks early, drive blockers to resolution, and communicate progress and decisions clearly to teams and leadership. Coordinate with product, policy, legal, and external partners on data access, use, and presentation, helping teams resolve decisions that span technical and non-technical domains. ABOUT BASETEN Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F , led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products. THE ROLE The Model Performance organization at Baseten is looking to hire our first Technical Program Manager. This is a zero-to-one role in a team that is responsible for building the core algorithms and methods that power Baseten’s high performance inference stack. You won't inherit an existing program framework, you'll build one from the ground up: the planning structure, execution processes, metrics and the cross-functional alignment that a fast-growing organization needs. Your contributions will directly impact how fast our performance R&D gets productized. If you can drive turning a set of ambitious but loosely defined initiatives into a predictable, well-governed program, this role is for you. EXAMPLE INITIATIVES Take a look at these blog posts written by members of our Model Performance team: How to build a day-0 API for Kimi K3 How we built the new fastest API for GLM-5.2 Inference engineering for DeepSeek V4 Pro 0813 RESPONSIBILITIES Own execution across Model Performance's active project portfolio, freeing the team's technical leads to focus on technical direction rather than tracking. Design and stand up the planning structures, operating cadences, and status reporting mechanisms that best fits the team’s DNA. Coordinate model release and optimization programs end to end, including day-zero launches, sequencing the work across performance engineering, infra, and release stakeholders. Drive cross-team al
Who We Are Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together . We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. About the Role: We're hiring a Technical Program Manager to lead the systems, data, and process work behind how we bill, recognize revenue, close the books, and prove our controls work. You won't be writing the code or drawing the architecture; you'll be deciding what gets built, in what order, and why it matters. This is a role for someone who wants to understand a business well enough to change how it runs: learning the objectives, processes, and system flows end to end, then shaping them into strategic technical programs with real owners, deliberate sequencing, and decisions that hold up under audit. You'll sit between Finance and Accounting on one side and Engineering, Data, and Product on the other, and you'll be accountable for making new revenue streams operable and auditable, from a pricing model on a slide to a billed invoice, a booked journal entry, and a control that passes testing. You'll report to the Lead Technical Program Manager for Data, Biztech & AI Transformation, within EPD. You'll get high-level direction and clear priorities from your manager, and independent ownership of how the work actually gets delivered
