About Ramp Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it. About the Role We are hiring a Software Engineer to build systems across Fraud, UIM (User & Identity Management), and Identity. This role sits at the intersection of security, risk decisioning, and product experience. You will help build detection and enforcement capabilities for fraud and account takeover, as well as the identity primitives that power authentication, authorization, and safe account access. This work is deeply cross-functional. You will partner closely with Fraud Ops, Risk Strategy, Security, Product, and Data to ship improvements that are measurable in loss reduction, attack containment, and user experience. What You’ll Do Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across multiple surfaces, including account access and money movement. Develop enforcement and response tooling that enables fast, safe actions such as identity locks, business locks, payment freezes, and other containment levers. Improve protections against account takeover (ATO), including risk-based step-ups, monitoring, and targeted friction

About the Role The Engineering Platform team helps 300+ Ramp engineers move faster without breaking things. We work across the full software development lifecycle, including local development, CI/CD, testing, service frameworks, reliability, architecture, performance, and maintenance. Platform engineers on this team do not wait for a roadmap to be handed to them. They find high-leverage problems, validate them with engineers and data, ship solutions, and iterate until those solutions are trusted, adopted, and durable. Agentic development has expanded our mission. We are building the systems that let engineers and AI agents work together effectively in Ramp’s large, complex codebases: clear abstractions, orchestration, reliable workflows, fast feedback loops, and strong guardrails are now even more important. These platform investments unlock agentic workflows that can plan, execute, test, review, and ship meaningful changes, helping every engineer and agent at Ramp maximize their impact. About the Team At OpenAI, we’re building safe and beneficial artificial general intelligence. We deploy our models through ChatGPT, our APIs, and other cutting-edge products. Behind the scenes, making these systems fast, reliable, and cost-efficient requires world-class infrastructure. The Caching Infrastructure team is responsible for building a caching layer that powers many critical use cases at OpenAI. We aim to provide a high-availability, multi-tenant cache platform that scales automatically with workload, minimizes tail latency, and supports a diverse range of use cases. We’re looking for an experienced engineer to help design and scale this critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep experience in distributed caching systems (e.g., Redis, Memcached), networking fundamentals, and Kubernetes-based service orchestration. In This Role, You Will: Design, build, and operate OpenAI’s multi-tenant caching platform used across inference, identity, quota, and product experiences. Define the long-term vision and roadmap for caching as a core infra capability, balancing performance, durability, and cost. Collaborate with other infra teams (e.g., networking, observability, databases) and product teams to ensure our caching platform meets their needs. You Might Thrive In This Role If You: Have 5+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, with a strong focus on caching, load balancing, or storage systems. Have deep expertise with Redis, Memcached, or similar solutions, including clustering, durability configurations, client-side connection patterns, and performance tuning. Have production experience with Kubernetes, service meshes (e.g., Envoy), and autoscaling systems.
