As it scales, the systems and workflows that keep supply and demand balanced across our GPU fleet need to get more sophisticated, and this role exists to make sure they do. Compute sits at the center of how Baseten allocates, forecasts, and manages the capacity that powers every customer inference request. The team that supports this work, C3, runs on a mix of internal tooling, manual processes, and systems that haven't fully kept pace with the scale of the problem. This role exists to close that gap. You'll design, build, and ship AI-powered workflows that give the Compute and C3 teams real leverage, automating the manual, repetitive, and error-prone parts of the capacity lifecycle so the team can focus on judgment calls that actually need a human. We want someone who can walk in, audit what exists today, identify what's missing or broken, and start shipping fast. You know when to reach for an existing internal tool and when to build something custom in Claude Code. You think two to three steps ahead about how the thing you build today fits into the broader capacity systems architecture tomorrow. And you bring a point of view on our stack, on what we should be building, and on where AI can do something existing tooling simply can't. RESPONSIBILITIES Ship AI-powered workflows for Compute and C3 : build the agents and automations that give capacity analysts, ops leads, an

Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products. THE ROLE Forward Deployed Engineers work directly with the largest and fastest-growing AI companies in the world, owning their technical outcomes on Baseten and taking on the hardest problems in serving and improving models at scale. The work spans the model lifecycle: inference, post-training, and the systems that tighten the loop between them. Act as each account's de facto CTO on Baseten, with final accountability for how their workloads are designed, run, and scaled. Take customer objectives from vague to shipped: frame the problem, define the spec and success criteria, build the PoC, and carry it through to production quickly, using the right tools for the problem. Design the evals and benchmarks that isolate where quality or performance falls short, then close the gap yourself, whether that means optimizing inference, improving the model through post-training, or reworking the eval itself. Be the first responder to mission-critical failures including triage, owning the fix directly or route to the owning team and stay accountable until it ships. Build internal systems so that each engagement is faster than the last. This includes tooling and automation for eval and deployment infrastructure, and the recipes and reference implementations that make the product more self-serve. Shape the product itself, channeling what your accounts need into the roadmap and shipping fixes and features into Baseten's codebase yourse

Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products. THE ROLE Baseten is seeking talented and experienced Software Engineers to join our Platform team within the Infrastructure organization. As a senior member of Baseten's Platform Team, you will own the systems that let every engineer at Baseten prove their code works before it reaches production. Our product runs mission-critical AI inference for customers who measure downtime in dollars per second, which means our internal bar for correctness, performance, and failure tolerance has to be exceptional. Your focus is the full testing stack: fast and reliable unit test tooling, integration harnesses that spin up realistic environments on demand, load and performance testing for GPU-backed inference workloads, and resilience testing that deliberately breaks things so our customers never have to find out what happens when a node dies mid-request. This is a builder role with org-wide leverage. You won't be writing tests for other teams — you'll be building the frameworks, harnesses, and feedback loops that make writing good tests the path of least resistance, and you'll set the standards for what "well-tested" means at Baseten. RESPONSIBILITIES Own Baseten's testing strategy end to end — define the standards, the tiers, and the tooling that engineering teams build against. Build and maintain unit, integration, load and performance testing frameworks Design end to end test infrastructure that provisions realistic dependencies

THE ROLE Baseten’s Inference Stack team builds the distributed runtime that powers large-scale LLM inference across our platform. We operate at the intersection of distributed systems, model performance, infrastructure, and developer experience. We enable customers to deploy and operate cutting-edge LLM models with industry-leading performance, scalability, reliability, and ease of use. As a Software Engineer on the Inference Stack team, you’ll work across the stack - from the developer experience customers use to deploy models, the libraries used for features like tool calling and reasoning, all the way down to the systems we use to orchestrate deployments in Kubernetes and route traffic efficiently. This is an ideal role for engineers who enjoy owning systems in production, solving hard integration problems, and making complex infrastructure simple and reliable for users. About the Team OpenAI's research training infrastructure powers how our frontier models are trained and evaluated. The Simulation team sits at the intersection between the agentic harness that powers OpenAI's products and the research infrastructure where GPT-next is trained, ensuring that our model's training environment is as realistic as possible. This team owns the integration layer that connects our production harness capabilities into the training stack. The work is highly cross-functional and high leverage: researchers depend on it to run experiments and evaluations reliably as well as to develop the next generation of harness capabilities. Failures in this surface can materially affect training velocity and correctness. About the Role We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the architecture and evolution of the Simulation Platform. You'll own a critical interface between research and engineering, building the systems, APIs, and operational patterns that let researchers use agentic coding infrastructure safely and effectively in training environments. This role is ideal for a senior backend or infrastructure engineer with strong technical judgment, product sense for highly technical users, and the ability to drive execution across multiple teams. The highest-leverage work is building robust infrastructure that supports and accelerates research without compromising engineering quality. In this role, you will Design, build, and evolve the integration between the Codex harness that powers OpenAI's products and research training infrastructure used for training GPT-next Build a platform for our LLMs to train and be evaluated in simulated environments that mimic their deployment setting as closely as possible, on every axis: agentic harness, compute substrate, timing, tools, data sources, humans in the loop, and more Own major integration surfaces end-to-end, from architecture and API design through rollout, operations, and long-term maintenance Bu

You'll design and build landing pages, bring product launches to life, run experiments, improve conversion, and keep raising the quality bar on the site. This is a high-ownership role on the brand design team, sitting between brand design and frontend engineering. We want the website to be one of the best expressions of the Baseten brand and one of the best developer-focused sites on the internet, which means treating it as a product that's constantly evolving rather than something we redesign every few years. You'll have a lot of autonomy to ship, while partnering closely with brand, product marketing, engineering, and leadership on bigger launches. RESPONSIBILITIES Own the design and frontend implementation of the Baseten marketing site. Ship landing pages, product pages, launches, and campaigns from concept through production. Improve the site continuously, finding and acting on opportunities to make it better rather than waiting for a redesign cycle. Partner with growth and product marketing to test messaging, layouts, and conversion improvements without sacrificing craft. We're looking for an AI Engineer to join our Training Product team and do that at Baseten. You'll build AI-driven product features for the customers training and post-training frontier models on our platform, and you'll raise the ceiling on how Baseten itself uses AI internally, turning manual workflows into agentic ones that make every other team faster.
