ABOUT THE ROLE: Join the High Power Engineering team supporting SpaceXSI to design, build, operate, and maintain electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses. As a Civil Engineer on the Battery Storage team, you will work with a small on-site team to scale high-capacity power systems on a schedule set by compute demand. The position is based in Memphis, TN, with potential travel to other sites. RESPONSIBILITIES: Own civil and site design for the battery storage plant: pads, foundations, grading, drainage, access roads, fire lanes, and equipment yards coordinated with electrical collection and NFPA 855 spacing. Support the fire and life-safety case with civil provisions: water supply, hydrant layout, deflagration venting clearances, and emergency vehicle access for AHJ review. Coordinate seismic and severe-weather (tornado/high-wind) structural design basis for storage blocks, transformers, and equipment supports with structural engineering. Produce issued-for-construction civil packages: site plans, sections, details, specifications, and bid support. ABOUT THE ROLE You will oversee structural contractors and crews building the advanced structural infrastructure for SpaceXSI's Memphis Data Center — including deep foundations, concrete slabs, pile systems, structural steel framing, equipment pads, seismic bracing, and heavy support structures that form the backbone of the facility.
