About the Role The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures involved in end-to-end processing of biological samples to enable successful downstream next-generation sequencing (NGS). Processing will include accessioning and both manual and automated extraction, library preparation, hybrid capture, sequencing and QC steps. Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Laboratory Operations and the Laboratory Director, you will work collaboratively within the clinical laboratory leveraging your technical knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure efficient and quality results are provided to our clients and patients while also informing/participating in process improvements. About The Role The Laboratory Systems Scientist at Foresight Diagnostics will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations infrastructure as a technical SME. The Laboratory Systems Scientist will collaborate with research, development, clinical, bioinformatics, software, operations, regulatory, quality, to enable laboratory system development, implementation and maintenance. POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor of the clinical laboratory is a member of the Operations Department whose role is to oversee employees' performance and serve as a liaison between employees and senior management to meet company goals and quality objectives. The supervisor is responsible for daily supervision of lab staff performing duties such as laboratory testing and data review. Duties include but are not limited to coaching, motivating, staffing, evaluating, and training staff. The supervisor works closely with the manager to ensure company and team goals are met while adhering to good manufacturing practices and CLIA/CAP guidelines. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors • Ensures production work is consistently completed according to department goals. • Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. • Monitors team members to ensure adherence to SOPs and safety procedures • Oversees training and development of all staff members • Document nonconformances and all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the established performance specifications as needed. POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist analyzes specimens and maintains equipment in good operating condition. As the Associate/Laboratory Director, you have clinical oversight of Natera’s laboratory testing. You ensure that testing is properly performed, and applicable regulatory standards are met. You are responsible for ensuring that the laboratory implements testing while consistently providing accurate and reliable patient test results. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, approve, and sign-out reports for a variety of clinical molecular/cytogenetic and/or oncologic results, including NIPT, carrier screening, PGD/PGS, products of conception and rare disease testing on platforms including SNP array analysis, NGS, and other methodologies. Oversee the review of genetic and CNV variant data: interpret NGS and microarray results in the context of medical literature, online variant databases and other references along with relevant patient demographic data. Provide clinical and technical support for genetic counselors and other laboratory personnel. Set standards for laboratory testing and acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensure these are maintained. Analyze lab data, contribute to or write publications for high-quality scientific journals. May serve as Technical Supervisor. The Technical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring: appropriate test method selection; adequate method verification to determine the accuracy and precision of the test; enrollment of the laboratory in a CMS-approved proficiency testing (PT) program for the test performed; PT samples are tested in accordance with the CLIA requirements; PT results are returned within the time frames established by the PT program; PT reports are reviewed by the appropriate staff; corrective action plans are followed when PT results are found to be unacceptable or unsatisfactory; quality assessment and quality control programs are established and maintained; acceptable analytical test performance is established and maintained for each test system; remedial actions are taken and documented when signific
