Data Center Operations Technician

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars. SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Datacenter Operations Technician at SpaceXSI, you will be responsible for the health of our server and network infrastructure for Data Centers and Global Points of Presence. You will be responsible for our two most important data center operations metrics: mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to repair (MTTR). You are great at following directions, are a fast learner and are super attentive to details. You are accessible via cell phone and willing to get onsite when there are emergencies as needed. You understand all aspects of the equipment you are responsible for to drive efficiencies and optimizations where necessary to simplify and improve our server intake and repair processes. RESPONSIBILITIES: Report to the job site during initial construction and report back to the engineering team as required. Performing troubleshooting and monitoring of the servers and network in our data centers and global points of presence Rack and stack of data center network equipment Maintain Warehouse inventory and asset management using our internal application. Labeling and troubleshooting for fiber/optics cables Power supply cabling, installation, troubleshootin

ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Site Reliability Engineer focused on Hardware, you will serve as an expert focused on firmware, hardware specifications, vendor relations, and failure analysis. You will proactively identify and resolve hardware issues, manage RMA processes, and stay ahead of emerging hardware technologies to support SpaceXSI's data center operations. This role demands deep technical expertise in hardware diagnostics, and forward-looking hardware evaluation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze firmware packages and hardware specifications for upcoming releases for compatibility, performance, and reliability in SpaceXSI's data center environment. Run security scanning and CVE / vulnerability analysis on firmware and related components. Flag safety issues (electrical, thermal, power-protection, fail-safe behavior) before the package hits the floor. Investigate and diagnose hardware failures, including "grey failures" (ambiguous or intermittent issues), proving them as true hardware defects through rigorous testing and data analysis. Manage vendor relationships, including initiating RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) claims, negotiating beyond standard processes when necessary, and h
