Our growing ML performance engineering leadership team is looking for an Engineering Manager, ML Performance Optimization. The centralized ML performance team at Zoox plays a crucial role in enabling innovations across all our ML research teams to develop and deploy models across our robotaxi and cloud infrastructure and to advance cutting-edge training and inference optimization techniques. The Opportunity We are working on many interesting challenges to enable rapid experimentation and scale our multi-modal Foundation models and RL infrastructure, and ensure these models run efficiently on our vehicles, meeting our latency targets. The Sr. Technical Program Manager for Robot Platform on PMO is a seasoned program management expert and cross-functional leader that will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of technical and integrated product milestones for our vehicle platforms on our path to launch. This person will work closely with hardware, firmware, software, safety, operations, manufacturing and systems integration teams to structure, plan, and execute milestones to achieve our company goals. The right candidate will have experience with complex HW/SW systems engineering and integration, and with leading large, cross-functional teams to deliver ambitious programs. Our Simulation team builds the tools that engineers across the company rely on to validate autonomous vehicle safety and performance - including 3D scenario authoring tools, generative models for realistic traffic and scenario generation, and agentic tooling that automates manual simulation workflows. The team combines traditional software engineering with machine learning engineers, and the simulation coverage they deliver directly determines how many miles, scenarios, and edge cases we can validate before each autonomy release. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software and ML engineers building the scenario authoring tools, generative models, and agentic tooling that engineering relies on broadly to validate autonomous vehicle safety and performance. You'll own the team's technical direction - including its ongoing shift toward generative AI - while growing and developing the team, and you'll partner cross-functionally to scale our generative scenario creation capabilities as a company-wide capability with executive visibility.
