ABOUT BASETEN Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F , led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products. THE ROLE We're hiring a Sales Manager to build and lead a team of Enterprise Account Executives. Enterprise at Baseten means the companies with the most to gain from AI and the most complexity in getting there: large digital natives running products at massive scale, and category leaders in software, financial services, and healthcare. They have the data, the distribution, and the budget. Most are still deciding what to build, what to run themselves, and what it should cost. You'll recruit and develop reps, run deals alongside them while the team ramps, and contribute to the playbook for how Baseten wins enterprise. It's a high-influence seat, close to our founders and GTM leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES Recruit, hire, and ramp a team of Enterprise sellers Coach reps through long, multi-stakeholder cycles: multithreading across buying committees, navigating security and procurement, and closing seven- and eight-figure deals Raise the bar on consultative selling. Your reps should be advising customers on AI strategy, not just running a product evaluation Partner on shaping and executing go-to-market strategy for your territory, including which verticals to attack first Operate as a player-coach, carrying deals yourself while the team builds Stay deep enough on the product to guide reps through technical evaluations, POCs, and architecture reviews alongside our forward-deployed engineers Work with Marketing, Product, Engineer

About the team OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with banks, asset managers, insurers, and private capital firms to deploy production-grade AI systems in high-stakes financial environments. We operate at the intersection of customer delivery and core platform development, embedding deeply with customers to translate frontier model capabilities into reliable, auditable systems that create measurable business impact. Our work turns early deployments into repeatable solution patterns, operating standards, and evaluation practices that scale across regulated financial institutions. About the role We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to lead end-to-end deployments of OpenAI’s models inside financial services organizations where correctness, latency, explainability, and control matter. You will work with customers who are experts in investment banking, trading, risk, compliance, underwriting, research, operations, or investment decision-making, translating complex workflows, data constraints, and regulatory requirements into production systems. You will measure success through production adoption, workflow efficiency, risk reduction, revenue impact, and evaluation-driven feedback loops that inform product, model, and GTM strategy. You’ll work closely with Product, Research, GTM, Security, Legal, and GRC to deliver systems that meet enterprise standards for governance, auditability, and operational resilience. You will also play a central role in shaping OpenAI’s Financial Services offering — identifying high-value use cases, defining solution patterns, and building the first repeatable deployments that scale across institutions. About the team OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team turns research breakthroughs into production-grade systems. We embed deeply with customers to solve high-leverage problems and act as the delivery engine for our most complex large-scale engagements. We move quickly from prototype to production and surface reusable patterns that shape our platform. We operate at the intersection of deployment and development – working closely with OpenAI Research, Product and Partnerships. About the Role As a Technical Deployment Lead (TDL), you will define how OpenAI delivers complex systems to customers. You will own how they are built, shipped, and adopted. You’ll translate business outcomes into a technical plan, run day-to-day execution across FDEs, Researchers, and Customer Engineers, and partner with customer teams to ensure delivery supports their goals. You will own delivery end-to-end: embedding with customers to map workflows and success criteria, ensuring components ship on time, and leading readiness and change management for adoption. You’ll track progress, manage dependencies, make sequencing decisions, and drive 0→1 prototypes through MVP and scale. You will also share field insights with Product and Research to guide roadmap and priorities. Success will be measured first and foremost by impact - deployments that deliver measurable value against customer goals, drive adoption, and become critical to their workflows. Additional measures of success include delivery reliability (milestones hit, low reopen/churn), operating leverage (patterns reused across deployments), judgment under pressure, and product impact (field signal that shifts roadmaps/architectures). This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role. Success requires deep technical project management expertise, extreme ownership of outcomes, and an ability to immerse in customer workflows and partner with customer teams to solve complex engineering problems at pace.
