Plaid's Corporate Development function drives inorganic growth, evaluating and executing M&A and investment opportunities that extend Plaid's product, technology, and market position. As Head of Corporate Development you will report directly to the CFO and serve as Plaid's primary architect for build-vs-buy decisions. Beyond executing deals, you will be a key voice in shaping Plaid's strategic direction, using market and competitive insights to inform where the company invests, builds, or acquires next. You'll partner closely with the Executive team, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Corporate Finance to source, evaluate, and close deals that accelerate Plaid's strategy. About the role The Corporate Network Engineering team owns Anthropic's corporate network: the wired, wireless, and edge infrastructure in our offices and research facilities around the world, and the standards, management systems, and telemetry that let a small team run them. We hold that network to the bar of a production service — designed for failure, managed as code, observable end-to-end, and secure by default — while delivering reliable connectivity to the people who depend on it every day. You'll set the technical direction together with your engineers and own the final decision on it and on the architecture standards, review and guide designs and the hard trade-offs, and lead vendor and platform decisions. You'll lead and grow a small team of network engineers: set priorities, drive decisions to closure, hire, and develop people. The team is small and the scope is broad, so this role needs real depth in campus and edge networking, judgment about what to standardize, automate, buy, and build, and the range to go from a wiring-closet decision to a budget defense in the same afternoon. About the Role As Head of First Party Chip Finance, you will be the finance leader for OpenAI’s custom silicon efforts. You will partner with teams across chip design, engineering, infrastructure, supply chain, and finance to turn technical roadmaps into sound investment decisions and financially disciplined execution. This role spans the full chip development lifecycle: evaluating design and roadmap choices, building investment cases, forecasting development and production costs, and supporting manufacturing and deployment at scale. You will give leadership a clear view of program economics, funding requirements, and risks as we build first-party compute capabilities. In this role, you will: Lead financial evaluation of custom silicon programs, including development investment, production economics, deployment assumptions, and expected returns. Assess first-party chips against alternative compute options. Build and own program-level models and multiyear forecasts that connect engineering milestones, development spending, manufacturing volumes, supplier commitments, and cash requirements. Partner closely with chip-design and engineering leaders on technical decisions that affect performance, power consumption, cost, and time to deployment. Translate complex design tradeoffs into clear financial recommendations. You will partner with teams across infrastructure, real estate, energy, construction, procurement, and finance to turn proposed sites into sound investment decisions and funded projects. This role spans the full development lifecycle: evaluating opportunities, building investment cases, forecasting capital needs, managing construction budgets, and helping determine how projects should be financed. You will give leadership a clear view of project economics, funding requirements, and risks as we build data center capacity at scale. In this role, you will: Lead financial evaluation of proposed data center and related power infrastructure projects, including site economics, development costs, capacity phasing, lifecycle costs, and key risks.
