You will work across applied research and engineering to solve many open problems in AI, including: Designing AI agents to navigate the digital world and perform increasingly valuable units of work for our users; Training action and decision models that determine, based on complex multimodal states, how to accomplish user-specified objectives; Providing consistently excellent experiences across desktop, mobile, headless cloud, and other environments through flexible abstractions and frictionless backgrounding; Developing permission architectures, payload classifiers, and other methods to implement secure-by-design agentic capabilities; Designing optimal data representations and modes of interaction between agents and their environments; and much, much more. Responsibilities Engineer agent harnesses that connect powerful models with the environments and tools required to perform economically valuable work for users. Drive cutting-edge AI capabilities across multiple layers of a rapidly growing product in the AI agents space. Develop and leverage cutting-edge AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies to advance the capability frontier and scale those capabilities for a rapidly growing userbase. Ensu

About the Role The Enterprise Knowledge Platform team builds the data layer that lets Perplexity's agents reach into the world's software. This team owns the systems that turn hundreds of heterogeneous integrations (native, MCP, CLI, first-party, and third-party APIs) into one unified, reliable, well-typed surface that agents can call with confidence. This platform is the core layer that forms the knowledge layer for Computer: it is how the agent discovers what tools exist, understands what each one means, decides which to call, and grounds its reasoning in real, permissioned, up-to-date enterprise data. We maintain a knowledge layer above connectors that pushes and pulls context into them, rather than letting each connector hoard org knowledge on its own, making Computer the source of truth for institutional knowledge. Models are commoditizing; grounded, actionable, permissioned access to a customer's real systems is not. When this layer is fast, accurate, and semantically rich, every agent built on top of it gets smarter; when it is weak, no amount of model quality compensates. Key Responsibilities Own the design and implementation of the connector runtime, the system that registers, hosts, and executes built-in connectors, hosted MCP servers, and CLI-backed tools behind a single agent-facing interface. Build and extend the semantic layer: tool and entity schemas, capability metadata, relationship modeling, and the mechanisms for capturing and applying organization- and account-specific corrections and knowledge. Design the tool-discovery and tool-selection surfaces that agents use to find the right connector and call it correctly, optimizing for both model accuracy and context efficiency. Make agent loops robust: structured results, partial-failure and retry semantics, idempotency, pagination, rate-limit handling, and observability into every tool call an agent makes. Define authentication, authorization, and credential-isolation patterns for connectors (OAuth fl

Perplexity is looking for experienced Generalist Software Engineers to join our Perplexity and Comet application teams. Our team is reshaping knowledge work through our high-impact desktop and Comet apps. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills and multiple years of experience shipping high-quality, production software. Our stack spans several different skillsets, including Rust, Kotlin, Swift, Typescript, Chromium and Perplexity’s core AI stack. We have found that our strongest engineers are capable of working across multiple codebases and ramping up quickly, and we expect the same high bar for candidates. Responsibilities Work closely with product teams to implement novel mobile experiences. Work closely with design teams to design fast and intuitive UI. Utilize Perplexity Computer and other Agentic coding tools to accelerate development. Collaborate with data science and machine learning teams to instrument, analyze, and improve the end-to-end experience. Work with infrastructure and QA teams on deployment processes, including testing, release, and monitoring. Requirements 4+ years industry experience Experience in shipping high-quality native applications Architecture experience in writing code understandable by both agents and humans Deep understanding of app performance Ability to own projects and surfaces, and to push them forward proactively

Perplexity is looking for a frontend engineer to build the design system behind every Perplexity product. It is the component library and design language shared across web, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows – the primitives, tokens, and interaction patterns that every product team builds on top of. Its users are internal, spanning product teams and a broad range of contributors across the company. The components you build become the foundation all of them rely on. You will develop component APIs that hold up across dozens of consuming surfaces and are easy for other teams to adopt correctly, contribute to the token pipeline that keeps five platforms visually consistent, and maintain a high bar for interaction quality and accessibility. Tech Stack: React · TypeScript · CSS · Design Tokens What you'll do Design and build core primitives – overlays, inputs, navigation, feedback – with APIs that stay coherent as consumers multiply Work across the design-token pipeline – authoring, generation, and per-platform publishing across web, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows Partner directly with design on the design language itself, translating Figma systems into typed, testable, documented components Migrate product surfaces off bespoke implementations onto shared primitives without breaking them Build accessible components by default – keyboard, focus, contrast, screen readers – backed by automated coverage Support consuming teams through docs, visual regression coverage, and on-call rotation What we're looking for 4+ years building production frontend; experience with a design system, component library, or shared UI platform is a plus Interest in building reusable components Strong React and TypeScript, and CSS Working accessibility knowledge (WCAG, ARIA patterns, assistive tech) Comfort collaborating closely with designers on the visual and interaction language

About the Role Perplexity is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to build and evolve the software, automations, and systems that power our security operations. This role focuses on engineering security tools and internal AI-driven agents that improve detection and response, vulnerability management, and the overall security posture of our products and infrastructure. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain software and automation that improves our detection and response program, including alert enrichment, triage workflows, and investigation tooling. Implement and enhance internal AI agents and security bots that assist with monitoring, investigations, reporting, and other security operation tasks. Develop and operate systems and workflows that support the bug bounty and vulnerability disclosure program, including intake, triage, prioritization, and remediation tracking. Experience integrating with security-r

About the Role The Enterprise Trust & Governance team builds the control plane that lets the world’s largest organizations deploy Perplexity broadly and with confidence. Computer and our agents work across a growing share of our customers’ environments, tools, and models. For administrators, that makes precise, enforceable control essential: who can do what, with which data, through which agents, and within what usage limits. This team makes those controls easy to manage, reliable and consistent across every product, and transparent to the people accountable for them. This is a product and platform engineering role with end-to-end ownership, from shaping the architecture and policy models to shipping the experiences our customers’ administrators and security teams use every day. You’ll work across product and infrastructure teams to turn complex enterprise requirements into reusable primitives and intuitive controls. The scope spans identity and provisioning, fine-grained role-based access across connectors, tool actions, and models, customer-managed encryption keys, admin APIs, audit logs, and policy and usage controls. Strong governance helps enterprises move from pilots to company-wide rollouts and gives them the confidence to entrust agents with greater responsibility over time. Key Responsibilities Own enterprise identity and provisioning, including SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM, WorkOS integrations, and support for identity providers such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID. Build the permissions platform, with fine-grained roles and permissions for connectors, tool actions, models, and model effort levels, enforced consistently across products and agent workflows. Design and ship secure, well-documented admin APIs for audit logs, members, groups, roles, and settings. Build policy controls for model and feature availability, staged rollouts, model deprecations, usage and spend limits, alerts, and cost-center allocation. Build admin-facing analytics for adoption, usage,
