Plant Technician (Power Generation) - Memphis

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars. SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Lead Technician on SpaceXSI's power generation team, you will lead the technician crew for on-site generation that powers high-density AI supercomputing facilities in the Southaven / Memphis area. You will work across plant, process, and electrical systems — gas turbine packages, balance-of-plant, fuel gas and fluid systems, and medium-voltage electrical through 34.5 kV. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform and lead operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across plant mechanical, process/fluid, and electrical systems, including gas turbines and generators, balance-of-plant equipment, fuel gas, water, compressed/instrument air, HVAC and cooling, and plant electrical systems up to 13.5 kV / 34.5 kV Serve as the working technical lead on assigned jobs, shifts, and outages: sequence work, coordinate across disciplines, and keep execution aligned with the supervisor’s priorities and live plant conditions Mentor plant, process, and electrical technicians through on-the-job training, technical guidance, and quality checks — without owning hiring, performance reviews, or formal people management Execute and support switching, isolation, LOTO, start-up, shutdown, r

ABOUT THE ROLE: The Power Generation team is seeking an Electrical Technician to operate and maintain plant electrical systems at SpaceXSI's power generation facility. You will work hands-on across medium-voltage generation, distribution, and balance-of-plant electrical equipment up to 13.5 kV and 34.8 kV. This is an operations and maintenance role — you will switch, troubleshoot, repair, and keep electrical systems online in a high-reliability, fast-paced plant environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform operations and maintenance on plant electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, VFDs, UPS units, automatic transfer switches, and emergency/black-start equipment, at voltages up to 13.5 kV and 34.8 kV. Execute switching, isolation, LOTO, racking of breakers, and restoration of medium-voltage equipment in accordance with plant procedures and NFPA 70E. Troubleshoot electrical faults on power distribution, protection, grounding, lighting, and auxiliary systems using one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical test equipment. ABOUT THE ROLE: We are looking for a Manager of Engineering to own the design, build-out, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation, controls, and electrical systems at SpaceXSI's power generation facility in Southaven. This plant is critical infrastructure for SpaceXSI's AI supercomputers: it must deliver high-reliability power and supporting utilities at scale, with the uptime and response expected of a mission-critical compute campus. If it has a gas or steam turbine control system, a switchgear lineup, a plant electrical distribution network, a SCADA/DCS point, a control loop, or a supporting utility/process system (water, wastewater, fuel gas, HVAC, cooling) that must run reliably, this team designs it, specifies it, commissions it, and keeps it running. As a Manager, you will lead a team of engineers in a high-reliability, fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership role — you will review P&IDs, challenge control philosophies, dive into DCS/PLC architecture, electrical protection schemes, and commissioning details, not just manage a roadmap. You will scale both the team and the systems as generation capacity and AI compute load g
