About the Role We’re seeking Technical Program Managers to drive complex product, platform, and safety initiatives across ChatGPT, API, enterprise, and related deployment environments. These roles operate at the intersection of technical strategy and execution: you will turn safety and product priorities into actionable plans, influence architectural and operational decisions, and deliver durable capabilities across model, infrastructure, application, and platform layers. Depending on the role, you may enable sensitive or high-impact model deployments, integrate safeguards into cloud and API platforms, prevent violent misuse and other serious harms, improve detection and enforcement systems, create platform solutions for safety or establish new programs as risks evolve. About the role Anthropic's Safeguards organization builds the policies, evaluations, and detection and enforcement systems that define and hold the limits on how Claude can be used. In this role, you'll lead our policy design team, managing the teams responsible for radicalization, child safety, user well-being, harmful manipulation, and election integrity, among other harm areas. The team is responsible for understanding and defining the risks that come with engaging with Claude, how those risks materialize in the real world, and the mitigations needed to prevent them. As the manager, you'll work with your team to draw the boundaries between what is and is not allowed, then partner with research, product, and engineering to build the right interventions. Mitigating these harms takes the whole stack: the values and judgment trained into the model itself, the policies and detection systems we enforce on top of it, and the interventions we build into our products. More capable models, new product surfaces, and new user behaviors will keep testing these boundaries, so the team's policies have to keep pace. We are hiring a manager to lead the research engineering team responsible for biological safety: the evaluations, datasets, and classifiers that govern how our models handle biological knowledge. You will lead a team of research scientists and engineers who design and run capability evaluations against frontier models, curate training data for our safety classifiers, train and iterate on those classifiers alongside our ML engineers, and measure how they hold up against adversarial pressure in production traffic.
