Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer

Zoox builds and operates a fleet of purpose-built robotaxis, and every vehicle must prove its build integrity before it can carry riders. The HWSI team builds the platform that authors, schedules, and executes Build Integrity Tests (BIT) across the manufacturing line and the fleet, and turns the results into the data that engineers and operators rely on every day. In this role, you will: Own the architecture and core of our test-orchestration platform - the distributed task scheduling, execution, and result-collection engine that runs tests across manufacturing and the fleet - and you'll personally build its most complex, reliability-critical components. Lead a small engineering team of two engineers plus 1–3 contractors: setting technical direction, reviewing code, and growing the team's impact. Make the platform resilient at scale - design for safe mid-run cancellation, no result loss under failure, and predictable behavior across hundreds of test runs as the line moves toward high production rate. Build clean APIs and frameworks that let other teams plug their own test suites into the platform without forking it, multiplying the team's reach ac

Zoox’s Robot Software Infrastructure Deployment team builds the critical systems that flash and update software and firmware across our vehicles and test fixtures—spanning development, manufacturing, and fleet operations. Our deployment system orchestrates updates across a massive ecosystem: advanced sensors, high-performance compute platforms, automotive ECUs, network switches, and user interface devices. Because of the sheer breadth of this domain, this role offers a unique vantage point. You will maintain a high-level view of our entire architecture while possessing the sharp technical acumen to dive deep into specific components when solving complex engineering challenges. If you thrive on variety, collaboration, and high-impact infrastructure, this team is for you. In this role, you will: Expand Capability: Design and integrate deployment support for next-generation vehicle components and subsystems. Architect Infrastructure: Enhance the core deployment framework, developer tools, instrumentation, and integrations with broader engineering systems. Optimize Performance: Drive systemic improvements in deployment speed, efficiency, and mission-critical reliability. Root-Cause Failures: Triage, debug, and resolve complex deployment failures across hardware and software boundaries. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Firmware, QA, Systems, Manufacturing, and Fleet Operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution. Qualificat

The Program Management Office (PMO) at Zoox is responsible for driving cross-functional program planning and execution at the highest level. We partner with leaders from across the company in vehicle development, system design, software engineering, manufacturing, fleet operations, and business functions to develop and deliver major corporate milestones on the path to launch, and beyond. Our program managers contribute to the end to end success of technical, integrated product milestones involving both of our vehicle platforms - the Toyota Highlander test fleet and Zoox’s purpose-built robotaxi. In this role, you will: Own the fleet validation operational strategy: Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of mileage accumulation for both the physical test fleet and simulation assets, to enable Zoox’s geofence expansion across all cities. Partner closely with upstream teams (e.g. Autonomy, Systems Design & Mission Assurance, Places & Build) and downstream teams (e.g. Data Science, Fleet Operations) to ensure critical inputs are available, and results are delivered; you will ultimately "own the outcome" of test fleet data collection. This is a high leverage, high impact role. Usher in a simulation-first methodology : Act as the cross-functional catalyst for scaling simulated mileage accumulation. Drive alignment between Autonomy, System Design & Mission Assurance, and Simulation teams to ensure clear requirements are set, and simulation platforms are resourced to meet exponentially growing data needs. Identify and resolve critical bottlenecks : Develop rigorous tracking mechanisms that model the impact of upstream dependencies (e.g., map content deliverables and safety requirements). You’ll think critically and work cross-functionally to squash inefficiencies in upstream and downstream pipelines and systems. Partner collaboratively wi

In this role, you will: Partner with a wide range of department managers to translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed technical roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables Influence key decisions working cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing, product, operations, and strategy to reach the right outcomes Establish standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to key stakeholders on program status, issues/risks, and accomplishments Define and develop new KPIs and other methods to measure performance that best translate progress toward goals Ensure the program goals are aligned with business objectives; build and sustain momentum among cross-functional TPMs and workstreams towards delivering on time and on target Maintain a strong technical understanding of our vehicle platforms, software lifecycle, safety clearance process, and live robotaxi service operations Build deep trust and credibility with technical department managers to steer high-stakes decisions and negotiate trade-offs across competing organizational priorities. Our program managers contribute to the end-to-end success of technical, integrated product milestones involving both of our vehicle platforms - the Toyota Highlander test fleet and Zoox's purpose-built robotaxi. As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Core Autonomy Capabilities in PMO, you will own the portfolio of programs launching fundamental new autonomy and safety capabilities: fail-operational architectures, the next generation of the perception and motion planning stack, learned scene understanding and behavior models, collision avoidance, and the guidance and routing capabilities that expand where the vehicle can drive. These are new capabilities rather than refinements of shipped ones, and they sit on the critical path to launch. This is a high-leverage, high-visibility portfolio role. Rather than a single subsystem, you will own several capability programs running concurrently, partnering with the TPMs who drive them and driving programs directly where no dedicated owner exists. The engineering, validation, and safety teams behind this work sit across several organizations outside your reporting line, so building credibility quickly and driving decisions without formal authority is core to the job. In this role, you will: Own the outcome for each capability. Drive programs from architecture through the release that ships them, and define what "done" means when completion criteria are still being established. Partner with the TPMs who own individual capabilities. Set a consistent bar for how their programs are planned and reported, and unblock what the

In this role, you will: Own fleet orchestration at Zoox: Lead the cross-functional strategy and execution to massively scale Zoox's fleet and mature our fleet orchestration capabilities as we expand into new cities and states. You'll span both of our fleets — the driverless robotaxi service and the autonomous test fleet — and optimize for the best outcome for the business as a whole. This is a high-leverage, high-impact role that is critical to how Zoox will scale. Level up orchestration of the live service: Drive the roadmap and execution for the cloud systems that orchestrate our robotaxi service — optimally pairing rider trip requests with bots, keeping the fleet charged, and positioning vehicles to meet future rider demand — together with the mobile app experience they power. Partner closely with teams across the company (e.g., Product Software, Product, Data Science, and Fleet Operations) to ship improvements that riders and the business can feel. Orchestrate the
