About the Team & Role The Platform Security Engineering team builds the security features and frameworks that every Rubrik product runs on protecting hundreds of petabytes of data across thousands of enterprise customers globally , from encryption and certificate management to access control and platform hardening at scale. We're a small team with massive impact: the problem space covers the entire Rubrik portfolio, from performant core backend architecture to the AI-powered engineering workflows we and the rest of Rubrik now build with daily. This is a strong opportunity for new grads and early-career engineers who want real ownership on security-critical systems. You'll help solve problems like: How do we roll out post-quantum cryptography across the backup data path before it's an industry requirement? How do we let customers manage sessions and access against compromise, at enterprise scale? How do we build an access control engine that holds up against dynamic, customer-defined policies unique to a data management platform? How do we secure the AI agents and agentic developer workflows that are now embedded in how Rubrik engineers ship code? You'll work alongside experienced engineers and deeply technical managers who will mentor you as you grow, on a roadmap with genuine business impact. What You'll Do Security feature development Design and steer AI to write clean, well-tested code in Go, Scala, or Python for scalable, secure platform services. Collaborate with senior engineers on system design and architecture decisions. Identify attack surfaces and build solutions to harden Rubrik products. Triage, debug, and drive product/system issues to resolution with clear ownership. Use AI coding assistants and agentic workflows as a core part of your daily engineering, while learning to treat AI-generated code as untrusted input that gets the same security scrutiny as any other contribution. About Team Rubrik Atlas is the core data path for all Rubrik products, whether in the data center, at the edge, or in the cloud. It is a distributed, scale-out, fault tolerant, performant, deduplicated user-space filesystem that uniquely combines block device (ext4/NFS/SMB) and S3 backend storage interfaces. It has been the cornerstone of Rubrik’s innovative tech stack since Day 1. Since inception this team has attracted some of our strongest technical talent with a very high bar for quality and velocity. We are looking for motivated engineers, who can complement this rockstar team! About Role Rubrik is expanding at a rapid pace in all directions, from supporting various applications (like Kubernetes, Oracle, EC2, and RDS protection) to hardware storage platforms (like SSD, HDD, S3, Azure Blob, and EBS), to revolutionizing cloud protection (such as SaaS protection, data security, and immutability). At the heart of this transformation is our Atlas platform. We are looking for an experienced distributed systems engineer to guide us through the next stage of the evolution of our data platform. As an engineer in the team, you’ll design, develop and deliver cutting-edge solutions for the tectonic shifts mentioned above. You will be responsible for outlining the architectural principles we should build towards, prototyping changes, and working with the team to realize the vision in a production-quality system. Your technical direction will also impact multiple teams across Rubrik, as we will need to guide them on how to best build on top of Atlas. There will be a wide range of features to work on, including cloud storage-backed file systems with effective cost analysis, building data formats optimized for read and write performance for all workloads, deduplication and compression, reliability, resiliency, infinite scalability, performance tooling using eBPF, asynchronous programming, various read-ahead techniques, snapshotting, data integrity, data security, data i

About The Team The Rubrik Engineering team is comprised of people who produce extraordinary results. Our engineers are driven to build efficient, reliable, and cost effective products. We believe in empowering our teams, giving engineers autonomy and responsibility, not just tasks. Our goal is to motivate and challenge you to do the best work of your career. As part of the Rubrik Engineering team, you will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define the next generation of products for Rubrik. At Rubrik, nothing will stop you from thinking big. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the prospect of a challenge. If you have a positive attitude, high energy and limitless drive, and like to win, we want to talk to you! About The Role: Site Reliability Engineers at Rubrik are systems/software engineers who ensure that Rubrik's infrastructure services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. What you’ll do: Ensure we maintain high availability and durability of our databases Establish best practices for internal teams to write performant SQL queries Perform periodic database upgrades minimizing downtime for our customers Design, implement and maintain relational database systems for performance and reliability Manage and run backend systems like Kubernetes, MySQL and everything in between Drive reliability, availability and efficiency improvements to Rubrik's Polaris Cloud Platform Good mix of software and system engineering skills Participate on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model Write and review code, plan and execute upgrades, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug production issues Work cross-functionally with various engineering teams Build monitoring tools and automation to increase efficiency of all teams Good written and verbal communication skills Drive FedRamp Certification process Good written and verbal communication ski
