The Prediction Markets team at Robinhood is building the backend infrastructure that powers event contracts — giving everyday people access to markets that were once reserved for institutions. We're the fastest-growing product line at Robinhood, having recently surpassed stock and crypto trading revenues, and we're scaling fast! Our team thrives at the intersection of financial markets, real-time systems, and high-stakes product moments like NFL, NBA, and election cycles. We value engineering excellence, ownership at every level, and building with both speed and craft! We're looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join us at a pivotal moment — as we transition from a scrappy 0→1 team into a scaled, excellence-driven engineering org. In this role, you'll own the technical roadmap for critical backend systems, identify gaps, and drive architectural improvements that can support exponential growth. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering leadership, and your cross-functional partners to ensure our infrastructure is ready for what's next. The Developer Infrastructure org is the engine behind Robinhood's entire engineering organization — a collection of tightly integrated teams whose collective mission is to make every engineer at Robinhood faster, more reliable, and exponentially more productive. The org spans four major teams: DevX (Developer Experience), TestX (Test Infrastructure), Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform. DevX owns Robinhood's monorepo and Bazel-based build infrastructure — the critical layer between a developer writing code and that code being ready to ship — along with the company's full CI/CD pipeline and remote build execution cluster. TestX owns the infrastructure behind Robinhood's entire test experience: the integration test environments, and personal development environments that serve as miniature simulations of the full Robinhood system, giving engineers a safe, isolated space to test their code end-to-end before it ever touches production. Backend Platform and Mobile Platform own the core language runtimes, libraries, IDEs, and developer toolchains across Python, Go, TypeScript, Swift, and Android. Together, these teams share a single north star: leveraging AI and agentic systems

The AI Platform & Agentic Apps team builds the agent platform behind every AI agent at Robinhood. Today it gives a growing number of engineers and employees an AI teammate that ships code, queries data, and runs operational workflows on their behalf. We're building toward the same platform powering the agents millions of customers interact with directly, in real time. These agents don't just answer questions — they're designed to take real action across carefully curated meta harnesses. This is agentic AI at real scale, in a regulated financial environment, and it will change how Robinhood works! As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the AI Platform & Agentic Apps team, you will design and build the harness that every agent at Robinhood runs on. A critical part of the role is making those agents trustworthy at scale: trajectory-level evals that measure how an agent reasons and acts, and action guardrails — permission models, approval gates, and sandboxing — built as platform primitives that other teams adopt. You'll be a technical anchor on a growing, high-caliber team, collaborating with product, infrastructure, and fellow ML engineers to take ambitious ideas from
