About the Role The AI Deployment Manager role is a specialist post-sales enablement role focused on delivering high-impact enablement and adoption services across OpenAI’s product suite. This role is responsible for designing and delivering technical enablement experiences that support a repeatable adoption framework– driving sustained activation, expanding breadth and depth of usage, and measurable business value across OpenAI’s product suite, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Codex, Agents, and the API. This includes helping customers understand and correctly apply the deployment harnesses, evaluation layers, and operational controls required for reliable use. This role blends deep technical fluency, instructional design, and customer advisory. You will lead live trainings, workshops, and adoption interventions for audiences ranging from hands-on builders to executive leaders, helping customers understand not just what OpenAI’s products can do, but how to use them effectively in real-world contexts. Success in this role means accelerating customer confidence, increasing product adoption, supporting successful launches of new product capabilities, and helping customers translate technical features into tangible outcomes. About the Team OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with customers to turn research breakthroughs into production systems. We operate at the intersection of customer delivery and core platform development. About the Role As a foundational FDE manager, you’ll lead FDE through high-stakes, ambiguous customer deployments and own technical and business value outcomes end to end. You’ll grow a team that can operate under pressure and help OpenAI learn from the field. You’ll partner closely with Product, Research, Sales, and GTM to ensure fieldwork informs roadmap priorities, drives new exploration, and supports safe deployment at scale. Your decisions will influence how OpenAI is trusted by the customers closest to our deployment work. Your success will be measured by how consistently your team ships, how clearly you deliver signal to Research and Product, and how durable your team and delivery model prove to be. This role is based in Tokyo. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. We act as trusted technical advisors and thought partners for customers, working side by side with their teams to identify high-value use cases, design practical architectures, and move from prototype to durable deployment. Cybersecurity is one of the most urgent domains where AI can help. Security teams are under pressure to reason across code, logs, infrastructure, tickets, alerts, and vulnerability data faster than ever. As frontier models become more capable, organizations need deep technical guidance on how to evaluate, validate, and safely deploy AI systems in security-critical workflows. About the Role We are looking for a Cybersecurity Applied AI Engineer to partner with customers and help them apply OpenAI models, APIs, Codex, and agentic workflows to real cybersecurity use cases. You will work with CISOs, security executives, application security leaders, SOC teams, security engineering teams, and hands-on practitioners to identify where AI can create measurable security outcomes. This is a customer-facing technical role for someone who can move fluidly between executive strategy, practitioner-level cyber depth, and hands-on solution design. You will help customers evaluate and deploy workflows such as secure code review, vulnerability triage, threat modeling, remediation, SOC and incident response workflows, detection engineering, cloud security, GRC automation, and security validation.
