About the Role We're looking for a software engineer to build the Kubernetes-native control plane that provisions and runs our GPU inference fleet. You'll design a manifest-driven API where the inference team declares what they need, whether that's a cluster, a model deployment, or a capacity change, and our controllers handle the reconciliation, provider/runtime selection, and lifecycle management underneath, so the inference team never has to know or care which specific serving stack, scheduler, or hardware pool is doing the work. You'll also build the systems that keep the fleet efficient, not just running, including defragmentation and rebalancing logic that consolidates scattered workloads back into contiguous capacity, and scheduling/bin-packing improvements that push GPU utilization up without hurting latency. The core value we're after is decoupling the people building on top of the platform from the operational and runtime complexity underneath, while squeezing more usable capacity out of the same hardware. You'll build the controllers, reconciliation loops, and self-service surface (API/CLI, not tickets) that make that decoupling real, plus the event-driven health, remediation, and utilization systems that keep it running and efficient without a human in the loop. Strong candidates have hands-on experience with Kubernetes controller/CRD patterns, have built or operated a platform API that abstracts multiple backends behind one interface, understand GPU scheduling and capacity efficiency (fragmentation, bin-packing, right-sizing), and think about GPU infrastructure as software to be engineered. A product mindset - you've built internal platforms or APIs consumed by other engineering teams and care about the developer experience of what you ship. You build it, you own it. You are not only responsible for delivering the software but also for operating and supporting it in production. Responsibilities Build the provisioning state machine: design and implement

The Senior Enterprise Engineer opportunity Statsig is building an Enterprise Engineering team for engineers who want unusually direct ownership of high-stakes customer outcomes. Like a Forward Deployed Engineering team, Enterprise Engineering works extremely close to customers and tackles the technical problems that matter most to them. The difference is the scope of ownership. Forward Deployed Engineering is often concentrated around implementation or onboarding; Enterprise Engineering is responsible for a customer’s technical success throughout the entire customer journey. You’ll stay close as needs evolve, answering questions, investigating across the stack, identifying root causes, shipping fixes and features, and remaining accountable through resolution. This is a software engineering role with a tight customer feedback loop. It is ideal for a pragmatic generalist, especially someone with backend or infrastructure depth who enjoys ambiguous problems, production systems, fast decisions, and immediate impact. What you’ll do Serve on the engineering front line in Unthread, our Slack aggregation and workflow layer, for key customer accounts. Answer technical questions by reading the code, tracing behavior, inspecting production signals, and building a clear explanation, not by forwarding the thread. Diagnose and fix bugs, then validate the outcome with the customer. Design and implement product or platform features when doing so is the fastest, highest-quality way to solve the customer’s problem. Act as the engineering point of contact for urgent issues in key customer accounts’ Slack channels, coordinating the response while retaining technical ownership. Represent engineering in customer office hours and, for selected accounts, recurring weekly meetings. Partner closely with customer-facing and product teams while maintaining crisp ownership, communication, and escalation paths. Identify recurring patterns and improve tooling, documentation, observability, APIs,

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us. THE ROLE Portworx is building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to embed directly with our most strategic customers during their highest-stakes Kubernetes storage deployments. You'll be the technical bridge between complex customer infrastructure and Portworx itself: shaping production architectures, advising through critical rollouts, and turning field experience into structured product feedback that shapes our roadmap. This is a consultative role. The customer's teams operate their own environment; your job is to make sure the decisions they make are the right ones. That means the value you bring is judgment and depth rather than execution: knowing which architecture holds under load and failure, which assumptions in a proposed design are wrong, and what a given storage fabric, hypervisor estate, or network topology will and won't support. Most of this work sits in the customer's own data center. Our largest and most complex deployments run on customer-owned compute, Fibre Channel and IP storage fabrics, established virtualization estates, and enterprise network designs that predate Kubernetes by a decade. You need to be genuinely conversant below the Kubernetes layer, at the server, the HBA, the switch, and the array, because that is where these deployments succeed or fail and where the customer's infrastructure leaders will test whether you're worth listening to. This is not a support role and not a pure pre-sales ro
