P-1428 At Databricks, we run the world's largest AI platform. We believe the next breakthroughs will come from models trained on domain-specific enterprise data, not from bigger general-purpose models alone. That's why we built AI Runtime , a serverless product that makes GPU training of any size feel simple, so companies can train their own models the way frontier labs do. Customers across industries already use it to train models on governed data, from automotive AI at Rivian to Merck's TEDDY foundation models for single-cell biology and drug discovery, all the way to agents like KARL from Databricks AI Research. It takes a lot of engineering to make that work, and we've written about it on our blog: how we keep GPUs reliable , make training fault-tolerant , and speed up fine-tuning with fused kernels and smart sequence packing. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work on the systems behind all of this, solving hard technical problems and helping shape how AI Runtime evolves. The impact you will have: Build core parts of AI Runtime and contribute to Databricks' technical direction in AI training infrastructure. Develop reliability and observability features for a fleet that keeps growing in scale and complexity. Improve AI Runtime's developer experience, so the largest training jobs feel as simple as a first experiment. Help prepare AI Runtime for new GPU generations and workload types. Take on hard multi-node training problems, from orchestration and GPU scheduling to data loading and checkpointing. Make training faster and cheaper by raising GPU efficiency across model architectures and hardware generations. Work with research, product, and customers on what we build next and own features from design through production. Champion engineering excellence, raise the bar, and help the engineers around you grow. What we look for: 5+ years in large-scale distributed systems, with experience in GPU training, high-performance computing, or ML systems. Experience traini
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars. SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence to help humanity understand the universe. Our teams are building the full Super Intelligence stack: from our Colossus supercomputers, to Grok models, to our suite of applications, including Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, and X. We're creating a powerful flywheel where more compute trains better models, better models power more useful products, and what we learn from people using those products shapes what we build next. About the role As a Software Engineer on ML Platform at SpaceXAI, you'll build the infrastructure that turns real product usage into better models — and keeps research moving fast on large GPU fleets. ML Platform is organized into four teams. Depending on your background, you may join any of them: Telemetry — Own the collection and serving path that turns real product use into a record research can trust; without slowing the product, and under a small, explicit policy. Client-side or high-volume ingestion experience is a plus. ML Data Platform — Build the shared environments and pipeline substrate researchers extend, so new experiments don’t fork their own stack. Observability — Make it easy for researchers to start, watch, and debug their own runs. ML DevX and Systems — Shorten the path from idea to a trusted run on the research fleet. We're looking for strong distributed-systems and infrastructure engineers who want to sit next to research and ship platform primitives that move the product. We're in-person with cozy offices in North Beach, San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Manhattan, New York, complete with well-stocked libraries. What you’ll do Design, build, and operate core pla

Roblox's Object Store team is building the in-house, multi-tenant object storage platform that underpins every large-object workload at Roblox — assets, media, analytics, backups, and machine learning datasets — at exabyte scale, trillions of objects, and terabytes per second of throughput. We build and run it ourselves on bare metal in our own data centers, replacing cloud object storage with a platform we control end to end — down to the hardware. As a principal engineer on the Object Store team, you will shape the architecture, build and launch the capabilities that keep this platform durable, fast, and efficient at global scale, and set the technical direction for where it goes next. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Storage. You will: Design and build the object store — S3-compatible gateway, metadata and indexing, data placement and tiering, multi-tenancy and isolation. Own the technical strategy : multi-year architecture, build-vs-buy calls, and the migration off cloud object storage. Evolve the control plane for elastic scaling, autonomous healing, self-service provisioning, and zero-downtime tenant moves. Run the bare-metal fleet at scale — cluster lifecycle, upgrades,
