Discord
📍 San Francisco Bay Area• Full-time• $248K – $310K/yr

Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. This team is where reports and signals become decisions. We build the LLM pipelines that review reported content, the systems that carry enforcement out, the appeals path users take when we get it wrong, and the tooling our investigators and content reviewers work in every day. Most safety reviews are now decided by automation instead of a person, at a cost per review that has fallen by more than 90% on mature workflows and at precision and recall above trained human reviewers. What's left to automate is the ambiguous, high-stakes end, and with appeals arriving by the hundreds of thousands, getting users a fast and fair answer matters as much as catching harm. We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team: nine engineers across three squads, each with an experienced tech lead. One builds the automated review systems; another owns enforcement, warnings, and the infrastructure behind appeals; and the final owns tooling that enables analysts to be effective. You'll report to the Director of Engineering for Safety and work closely with our content review operations, machine learning, product, policy, and legal teams. The charter is larger than the current headcount, and we expect the role to grow with it. What you'll do Lead three squads, Review, Enforce, and Tooling through their tech leads, setting direction across automated review, enforcement, and appeals Push automation toward nearly all review decisions without giving up precision or recall against a human baseline, and get engineering out of the loop so the operations team can launch and tune workflows themselves Rebuild appeals: one path for

Who we are About Privy Our mission is to make privacy and user ownership the default online. To do so, we build simple, flexible APIs and tools for developers that make it easy to build new products on crypto rails. Privy owns the abstractions and infrastructure layer above wallets, integrating across chains, third-party providers, and Stripe products like Treasury and Link. We get to solve hard technical problems while leveraging Stripe's distribution to reach customers like Ramp, Klarna, Deel, Kraken, Hyperliquid, and Fomo — powering experiences for both mainstream users and crypto natives. About the team Engineering at Privy is distinguished by: High urgency: Shipping very small iterations, very fast, to learn very quickly. Product taste: Our customers are developers, and to build effective products for them requires technical knowledge - you will often be "the PM". Security mindset: A great portion of our product is trust. While we have a dedicated security team, every engineer brings security to their designs from the start. In practice, we use boring technology like Node, React, and AWS so we can focus our engineering energy entirely on pushing the boundaries of Privy's core product, e.g. through hardware enclaves, multi-region low latency APIs, and blockchain abstractions that are accessible to mainstream developers. What you’ll do As an Engineering Manager at Privy, you will lead, grow, and shape high-performing engineering teams that make a massive impact on our product and industry. Your North Star is to enable and drive towards the success of Privy’s business overall. The buck stops with you: you are the owner of your team’s ultimate impact on Privy’s product and business. We believe that excellence in management is why our team loves working at Privy. Incredible managers are the core driver behind Privy’s long-term success: they are force multipliers, performance coaches, culture-carriers. They build the scaffolding that supports the team and

About the Team The Integrity team builds the systems OpenAI uses to understand, prevent, and respond to misuse across our products. We partner with Product, Policy, Safety Systems, User Operations, Security, Legal, Privacy, OpenAI for Government, and research teams to turn policy and threat models into product controls, review workflows, measurement systems, and enforcement paths. About the Role We are hiring a Senior Engineering Leader for Integrity's engineering efforts for Sensitive Deployments where model capabilities, customer requirements, deployment environments, privacy considerations, and misuse risks raise the operating bar significantly. These include hyperscaler and government deployments and other high-stakes environments, regulated and high-trust enterprise settings, zero data retention and privacy-constrained deployments. The workloads are increasingly agentic where harm can emerge across a sequence of actions rather than a single prompt. The Sensitive Deployments Engineering Manager will focus on high-consequence use cases relevant to government deployments and broader deployment-readiness questions for high-risk domains (e.g., healthcare), while building reusable Integrity capabilities for agentic detection and enforcements in these environments. We're looking for a hands-on engineering leader to guide a team of senior engineers working on OpenAI's most critical deployments. They will lead both the people and technical execution of the team: hiring and developing engineers, setting a high technical bar, and driving ambiguous, high-priority initiatives from early problem definition to durable production outcomes. They will partner closely with Product, Research, Security, Global Affairs, Sales, Solutions, and customer technical teams, while going deep on architecture, infrastructure, and model behavior when needed. About the Team The Cooperative AI team is scaling OpenAI with OpenAI. We are building a model-powered scaled automated workforce and knowledge system that evolves and learns alongside a human workforce. By leveraging OpenAI’s state-of-the-art models and technologies, some already in production, others still in the lab, we develop systems that reason and work autonomously for a wide variety of operational work. We leverage real workloads for critical systems across finance, sales, customer support, integrity, product insights, internal operations, and more in order to drive insights into product and industry. We partner closely with internal teams and external customers globally, operating in a hyper-fast feedback loop where many of our users are just a few steps away. This proximity allows us to iterate quickly, validate impact in real time, and accelerate industry impacting learnings and systems builds. We are a highly multidisciplinary, self-contained team focused on transforming the workplace via smart systems, knowledge, scalable and reliable primitives that apply world-class AI capabilities across domains. About the Team The Artifacts team is building the AI-native creation layer for documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, dashboards, reports, analyses, and new forms of interactive work products. We are rethinking what creation looks like when models can move from an ambiguous user goal to a polished, editable artifact with strong structure, taste, correctness, and speed. This is a high-agency team working across product, infrastructure, and research. We partner closely with model training teams to shape how frontier models create artifacts, and with ChatGPT product teams to turn those capabilities into experiences that millions of people can use. The work spans full-stack product engineering, model integration, rendering and editing systems, collaboration, storage, evaluation loops, and production reliability. Our ambition is to build the premier product experience for AI-generated artifacts: starting with familiar work products like slides, sheets, and docs, then expanding into new artifact types that are only possible in an AI-native world. About the Role As Engineering Manager, Artifacts, you will lead and grow the engineering team responsible for building this product and technical foundation. You will manage a team of full-stack and infrastructure-oriented engineers, set technical direction, and stay hands-on enough to shape architecture and debug hard problems. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, research, and infrastructure. You will partner with researchers on how models are trained and evaluated for artifact creation, with product and design on the user experience. This is a strong fit for a technical manager who wants to build and ship, not only coordinate. The team has a fast trajectory, so you will help define both the product surface and the team that builds it. In this role, you will: Lead, manage, and grow a team building AI-native artifact creation experiences across documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, and emerging artifact form
