Who is Artefact? Artefact is a next-generation strategy and data consulting firm dedicated to transforming organisations through data and AI. We combine the rigour of top-tier strategy consulting with deep expertise in data, digital and analytics to help clients achieve tangible business impact. With 2,500+ consultants, data scientists and engineers, we work with global leaders such as Samsung, L’Oréal, Orange and Sanofi. Our Swiss offices are at the heart of Artefact’s growth, advising clients on their most pressing strategic challenges — from AI strategy and governance to digital transformation roadmaps and new business model design. Main Responsibilities As a Senior Consultant in our Zurich/Lausanne office, you will work at the intersection of strategy consulting and data and AI delivery. You will: Strategy Development: Work with client leadership teams to address high-stakes questions. How can AI reshape our business model? How should we govern and organise for data? Which strategic programmes deliver the most impact? Structured Problem-Solving: Break complex challenges down into decisions a client can act on, combining consulting rigour with a working knowledge of what current AI can and cannot actually do. Solution Design: Turn a business question into a solution shape — what data it depends on, what kind of platform or product it should sit on, and what “good” looks like once it is built. You will do this alongside our data scientists and engineers. Project Delivery: Support engagements end to end, from hypothesis framing and market and competitor analysis through to data maturity assessments, client workshops, governance design and implementation roadmaps. Client Engagement: Work closely with C-level stakeholders and business unit leaders. Biohub is the first large-scale initiative bringing frontier AI models, massive compute, and frontier experimental capabilities under one roof. We're building a general-purpose system to accelerate scientific discovery, integrating frontier AI models, biological foundation models, and lab capabilities, with the ultimate goal of curing disease. Our technology powers scientists around the world, translating AI capabilities into tools that accelerate research everywhere. The Team The Virtual Biology Initiative (VBI) is an international effort focused on creating the definitive open biological data needed for predictive models of living systems: a scalable foundation to unlock the complexities of disease that no single organization could build alone. The most complex diseases, such as neurodegeneration, neurological and development disorders, and inflammation, are not failures of a single molecule but of biological systems. Our goal is to build artificial intelligence that can model how any cell, in any patient, with any genome, responds to an intervention, and predict the outcome before a single experiment is run. Achieving this vision will require progressing through increasing levels of biological complexity, from the cell to tissue to system, each demanding richer data, greater perturbational diversity, and spatial-temporal resolution. The Opportunity The Director of Virtual Biology Initiative is the strategic business and partnership leader responsible for building and growing the Virtual Biology Initiative's global ecosystem of collaborators. This role will develop and execute the partnership strategy that brings together leading research institutions, technology providers, industry, philanthropy, government, and other key stakeholders around a shared scientific vision. This leader will cultivate long-term relationships, establish new strategic partnerships, and help translate scientific ambition into sustained collaboration. Working closely with scientific,

The Team The AI Cluster Production Engineering team is part of the AI Compute Platform organization at Biohub, a non-profit research lab committed to open science and open-source AI. We own the design, operation, and reliability of large-scale multi-GPU AI clusters that power frontier AI biology research: protein language models, genomic foundation models, and scientific reasoning systems built to be shared, not monetized. Our clusters run Slurm on Kubernetes infrastructure and support everything from day-to-day AI researcher workflows to multi-node hero training runs at thousands of GPUs.
