Position Overview As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on Diligent's Platform AI team, based out of our technical center of excellence in Vancouver, you will drive the architecture and technical direction of the services that bring AI research and models into production across Diligent's global product suite. You will partner with AI researchers, product managers, and Staff Engineers as peers — leading through influence across the Platform AI organization rather than through reporting authority, on secure, scalable AWS Serverless solutions that translate ML and LLM research into commercial-quality, production systems. Key Responsibilities Drive technical direction and architecture for ML/LLM systems across multiple AI platform teams, partnering with Staff Engineers rather than managing ICs in isolation. Design secure, scalable, fault-tolerant AI/ML solutions using AWS Serverless technology — event-driven, highly observable, with infrastructure as code. Evaluate and prototype new AI technologies (LLM frameworks, model providers, agentic tooling) to guide build-vs-buy decisions across the organization. Serve as the go-to contact for architecture problems and questions across the Platform AI org, and regularly present and guide architecture discussions department-wide. Mentor Staff Software Engineers and Applied Scientists through constructive code review and design partnership. Collaborate with Applied Scientists and Product teams to productize AI capabilities, translating multi-quarter AI strategy into execution roadmaps and representing engineering's perspective to senior leadership. Design, build, and scale search and retrieval systems — including OpenSearch and semantic/vector search — that power discovery, retrieval-augmented generation, and other AI-driven product features. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk. Get to know the team The Developer Platform team at Auth0 (an Okta company) owns the surfaces developers use to build with Auth0 - APIs, SDKs, CLIs, and the tooling that shapes how developers experience identity. Software is increasingly built by developers working alongside AI agents, and that shift raises the bar on every interface we ship: APIs have to be consumable by agents, tools have to be discoverable, and our platform has to hold up when an agent - not just a person, is the one calling it. We're looking for an engineer who already builds with those skills. We move fast, we own problems end-to-end, and we care deeply about the developer experience we put in front of people. The opportunity We're hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build the platform surfaces that developers and AI agents use to configure, extend, and interact with Auth0. You'll work at the intersection of API platform design, developer tooling, and emerging standards like MCP (Model Context Protocol). You'll take on ambiguous, high-leverage problems alongside a group of strong senior and staff engineers, and you'll have real influence over how our platform is built for a world where agents are first-class consumers. What you'll be doing Design and build developer-facing platform surfaces - APIs, MCP tools, CLI integrations, that hold up whether the caller is a developer or an agent Own technical direction for key platform surfaces that make Auth0 consumable by agents Drive cross-cut

The Software Engineer II Opportunity We are looking for a software engineer to build the interfaces people use to work with autonomous AI workers. This is not a dashboard job. Our users chat with agents that run for hours, steer them mid-task, inspect what an agent remembers, approve or reject its actions, and watch it work in real time. You will own those surfaces: the chat experience, the memory and context views, the live run timeline, and the approval flows that keep a human in charge. You will define what agentic interfaces look like—because most of the patterns you will ship do not exist yet. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. About You Proven Product Builder: You have built and shipped products that users love and have seen the direct impact of your work at scale. End-to-End Ownership : You take pride in owning projects from initial concept to launch and are comfortable wearing multiple hats to get the job done. You'll lead from the front, writing production-grade code, setting high standards for design and data governance, and mentoring a team of engineers as the organization grows. If you're excited by the challenge of building scalable data systems that drive product innovation, we'd love to hear from you. What You Will Do Design and implement a next-generation data platform that supports diverse requirements, including batch and real-time integrations, advanced analytics, and multiple data types, leveraging Kafka, Kafka-based tooling, and additional streaming technologies to power real-time data movement and processing. Work with engineering, product, and senior leadership teams across Vercel to architect solutions that address business needs, aligning technical strategies with product goals and ensuring seamless data availability and usability.
