Anthropic
📍 Friendly Travel Required San Francisco• Remote• $320K – $405K/yr
20 days ago

About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Data Center Security Engineering (DCSE) secures Anthropic's data center footprint; this role covers how the sites are designed and built to be secure. Much of that footprint is designed and built with partners, so a site's security is decided early: in what Anthropic hands the people who build it, and in how rigorously the delivered systems are tested against it. You'll design and specify the physical security systems for a site: perimeter and vehicle barriers, intrusion detection, video, security lighting, and the site penetrations and utility entry points that bypass them. Design firms and integrators produce the site drawings and install; you specify, review, and verify. You'll write the performance requirement and verification method behind each control, review every site design against them at each stage with redlines a design team can act on, test in the field that what was built performs as specified, and re-verify post-acceptance changes. This is a foundational role. You'll own Anthropic's physical security reference design package (typical details, reference drawings, schedules, and test procedures) in the form partners build from, and keep it current against each site's threat basis and the sites actually being built. You'll set the technical position for a site and decide what applies where; where a requirement can't be met as written, you'll engineer the compensating control and document the deviation. You'll work with the rest of DCSE, with Anthropic's design, construction, and real estate counterparts, and directly with the vendors who build to the package. We use Claude throughout our engineering workflow

Zoox is looking for an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and software-defined infrastructure in our AWS cloud environment. This role is responsible for establishing best-in-class security practices across AWS, driving automation-first infrastructure security, and partnering with engineering and platform teams to embed security into every layer of our technology stack. You’ll act as a security champion, ensuring that infrastructure designs meet the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and availability — while maintaining operational efficiency and scalability through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). In this role, you will: Define and own the multi-year security architecture and roadmap for Zoox's robots and fleet, spanning embedded/firmware, in-vehicle networks, cloud, and supporting infrastructure. Partner with hardware, firmware, autonomy, and infrastructure engineering teams to embed security requirements into system design from the ground up, rather than bolting them on after the fact. Lead threat modeling and architecture reviews for new vehicle platforms and major feature launches, identifying and prioritizing systemic risk across the fleet. Set technical standards and guardrails - secure boot, key management, network segmentation, update/OTA security, and more - and drive their adoption across engineering teams. Represent Product Security in cross-functional and leadership discussions, translating technical risk into business and safety impact for the organization. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in security engineering, including significant time in an architect, staff, or technical lead capacity. Deep expertise in embedded/IoT security, including secure boot, TPM/TEE, cryptographic key management, and hardened firmware/OS design. About the Role Global Safety and Security (GSS) protects our people, our sites, and the physical and logical systems that keep the business running. Our security and protection programs are never single-team efforts: one rollout can touch physical security operations, customer experiences, site readiness, hardware provisioning, networking, cloud infrastructure, identity, and the data platforms above them — spanning many countries, on timelines tied to leases, permits, and vendors. About the Team We are hiring a Staff Security Engineer to help design and deliver strategic and durable security services. You own the technical and architectural plan, strategic partner engagement with technology providers, the delivery sequence, the dependencies, and the program status leadership relies on. You are accountable for outcomes influencing teams that you don’t manage. You will collaborate with software engineers, third-party providers, physical security operations, project managers running site readiness and provisioning, and networking and cloud infrastructure partners, and you will keep managers, directors, and senior leaders informed. Security Enablement Engineering delivers security paved paths and capabilities that address systemic security issues through well-designed customer experiences, easy-to-adopt and robust, well-architected security solutions, systematically reducing organizational risk. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Own the design of our physical security systems integration layer — such as access control (PACS) and video management (VMS) platforms, the APIs they expose, and the connectors that carry their data into our systems of record. Own end-to-end design and delivery of multi-domain security services spanning physical security systems, hardware provisioning and site readiness, cloud and network infrastructure, identity and access management, key management, and the reporting/observability layers on top. The Security Fusion Platform is where physical security signals from across that footprint are correlated and put in front of the analysts who act on them.
