This role involves performing specialist vascular assessments, including ultrasound imaging and blood flow analysis, to support accurate diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with vascular surgeons, radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines. Key Responsibilities The role requires expertise in vascular ultrasound imaging, including duplex scanning of carotid arteries, peripheral arteries, and veins. The scientist will be responsible for interpreting vascular studies, assisting in diagnostic procedures, and providing specialist advice to clinicians. Additionally, maintaining accurate patient records, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation standards are essential aspects of the role. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care while working within a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities The successful consultant will be expected to undertake a range of clinical duties, including: Outpatient vascular clinics. Elective and emergency vascular theatre sessions. Daily ward rounds for vascular inpatients. Post-take ward rounds and review of acute admissions. Assessment and management of emergency vascular referrals. Participation in consultant on-call duties as required. Collaborative working with multidisciplinary teams, including radiology, anaesthetics, emergency medicine, intensive care, and specialist nursing teams. Providing senior clinical decision-making and supervision where appropriate. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring high standards of patient safety and care.
