The Datadog for Startups (DDFS) program helps the next generation of fast-scaling companies adopt best-in-class observability and security from day one. We're looking for the technical engine of this program - someone who can sit across from a startup CTO, earn credibility in the first five minutes, and help them see how Datadog fits into their stack before they've even finished describing it. You'll be the first technical member on a lean, five-person team, owning the technical motion end-to-end: discovery calls, demos, startup enablement, forward-deployed engineering projects, and representing Datadog at founder events across San Francisco. This isn't a traditional SE seat - it's part solutions architect, part technical consultant, part startup evangelist, and it requires someone adaptable, proactive, and ready to take initiative without being told what to do next. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. What You'll Do: Run discovery calls with startup CTOs and engineering leads to identify quick wins, validate technical needs, and position Datadog against alternatives like Grafana, New Relic, Sentry, and Clickhouse Deliver tailored Datadog demos and help startups get instrumented quickly - removing friction, showcasing value, and ensuring smooth technical onboarding, particularly around AI/ML observability, infrastructure scaling, and security Build automation to improve internal team workflows - EX: outreach, reporting, the application process, and website updates Represent Datadog for Startups at accelerator demo days, hackathons, conferences, founder dinners, and workshops across San Francisco Build relationships across SF's startup ecosystem - founders, VCs, accelerator partners, and technical communities - and develop thought leadership content for tech

Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us. The opportunity Join the Office of the CEO and work directly on Flexport's highest-priority problems alongside the CEO, the President, and the leaders who run our regions and modes of freight. You will pick up a mode or a region, ocean, air, trucking, omnichannel, or customs, and learn it from the inside by solving real problems in it. Pricing in a mode that is losing money. Why a region misses its plan. Whether we buy, build, or partner. Then you go run part of it. Some people in this role move into a business unit as the number two to the leader who runs it. Some stay at the center and take on more scope. The operating job at the end is the point of the role, not a side benefit. You will: Own our biggest open questions end to end and come back with recommendations the CEO can act on. Build the analysis yourself. Pull the data, build the model, find the error before someone else does. Go to where the work happens, from warehouses and ports to a customer's supply chain team. Opinions about freight formed in a conference room are usually wrong. Run the operating cadence for a freight mode or region. Weekly metrics, quarterly plan, and the follow-ups nobody wants to

What you'll do Identity & access Advance our identity posture: SSO coverage, phishing-resistant MFA rollout, SCIM lifecycle automation, and least-privilege access across the SaaS and cloud estate. Build the detections and guardrails that catch account takeover, MFA fatigue attacks, and session token theft before they turn into incidents. Endpoint & device lifecycle Write and ship device policy as code — configuration profiles, remediation scripts, and enforcement rules across macOS and Windows — with staged rollout and rollback built in from day one. SaaS posture Reduce SaaS risk at scale through SSPM tooling and automation , including detection of risky OAuth grants, shadow IT, and configuration drift across our critical SaaS applications. Own security configuration for the SaaS tools hundreds of Flexporters use daily (Google Workspace, Slack, and similar), and keep pace as we add AI agents and MCP integrations to that surface. Detection & Response engineers own their detections end to end: you write them, you tune them, and your team is paged when they fire. The security team is spread across the globe with a follow-the-sun pager rotation so nobody is paged at 3am local. The adversaries are real. The business is growing fast and the threat surface is growing with it. Defining the necessary telemetry is part of the job. Detection engineering Build and tune detections across endpoint, identity, SaaS, and cloud , treating them as software: version-controlled, peer-reviewed, and shipped through the same CI/CD practices the rest of engineering uses. Track detection quality as measured quantities : coverage against MITRE ATT&CK, precision, time-to-detect. We don’t build-and-forget here. Response & automation Own incident response: triage, contain, remediate, and write the retrospective that turns the incident into a systemic fix.
