About the Team We’re hiring software engineers to make the Workload team more productive. The Workload team maintains the core components of OpenAI’s training and inference frameworks and helps execute frontier experiments. About the Role We’re looking for someone who cares about the developer experience of working in and around OpenAI’s core training and inference frameworks. In this role you will: Be responsible for optimizing the development workflows of the engineers around you Work within various Workload teams to address their specific needs, but collaborate with the centralized teams that own various aspects of development experience Optimize iteration speed, both broadly, and in particular by optimizing specific teams’ CI Improve reliability, for instance, by driving testing strategy for particular components Work through the long tail of things that it takes to build libraries and systems that will delight researchers You might thrive in this role if: You are motivated by helping people. You believe a thing that separates great teams from good teams are the players willing to do whatever work it takes, without ego. You believe in the power of developer experience. Something magical happens when people can quickly and confidently iterate on a simple codebase, but this magic is fragile and must be fought for. When you see someone trip over something, no matter how small, your first instinct is asking yourself what it would take for that to not happen again. Your second instinct is clicking merge on the PR you’ve already written to make it so. You are pragmatic. You have the ability to see the world through a perfectionist’s eyes, but are not yourself a perfectionist. You know which problems to pick and when to switch to making progress on a different problem. You like going end-to-end on things. You love co-design — that feeling when you were only able to find the right solution because you both deeply understand the users that interact with a system and the

About the team The Intelligence and Investigations team seeks to rapidly identify and mitigate abuse and strategic risks to ensure a safe online ecosystem in close collaboration with our internal and external partners. Our efforts contribute to OpenAI's overarching goal of developing AI that benefits humanity. This role focuses specifically on AI Safety: understanding and mitigating risks created or amplified by increasingly capable AI systems. It is not a cybersecurity, information security, or corporate security role. The Strategic Intelligence & Analysis (SIA) team provides safety intelligence for OpenAI’s products by monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting real-world abuse, geopolitical risks, and strategic threats. Our work informs AI safety mitigations, product decisions, and partnerships, ensuring OpenAI’s tools are deployed responsibly across critical sectors. About the role We are looking for a Frontier AI Risks Lead to help us understand potential harms and misuse of AI in a time of rapid, sustained change. We seek to understand how developments in AI could intersect with misuse and abuse, accelerating existing harm areas and creating novel risks. We seek to scan available signals and use strategic foresight methodologies to enable proactive detection and mitigation of frontier AI risks. This is an AI safety role focused on frontier and systemic risks, including model misalignment, recursive self-improvement (RSI), multi-agent interaction, loss of control, runaway agents, and related emerging failure modes. In this role, you will help provide a strategic-level perspective on a range of frontier AI safety areas, producing actionable understanding of issues relevant to OpenAI’s platforms, systems, and broader mission. Utilizing mixed quantitative and qualitative methodologies, you will spot early warning signs, pull threads on potentially concerning behavior, and turn weak signals into clear, prioritized risk calls. You will focus on upstream ecosystem sc

About the Team The Support team is central to ensuring that our customers' experience with our products is nothing short of exceptional. We resolve complex issues, provide technical guidance, and support customers in maximizing value and adoption from deploying our products. We work closely with Sales, Technical Success, Product, Engineering and others to deliver the best possible experience to our customers at scale. OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from early-stage startups to established global enterprises. Given OpenAI’s breakneck shipping cadence and growth – and the expectation that it will only accelerate – our ability to architect automation systems and agentic workflows for scale is central to our ability to maintain exceptional support quality in the face of AGI. About the Role As a Support Vendor Manager, you will own the health, performance, and long-term scalability of multiple support partner and vendor relationships. This is a vendor leadership role first and foremost: you will drive commercial and operational accountability (SLAs, QBRs, escalation paths, remediation plans), while also building the operating model that enables support to scale without linear headcount growth. You’ll collaborate closely with User Operations teams (e.g., Trust & Safety, Fraud & Risk), Systems/Tooling, Data partners, and Product/PM stakeholders as we launch new workflow and launch and scale new programs. You’ll be responsible for: End-to-end vendor leadership: Own day-to-day oversight, relationship health, and executive-level accountability for multiple support vendors/BPOs. Performance management & remediation: Define and manage SLA/KPI performance expectations, run WBRs/QBRs, identify performance gaps, and drive structured turnaround plans with clear owners and timelines. Escalation and risk management: Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor issues, including incident response, surge events, quality regress

About the Team The Platform Analytics team builds the systems OpenAI researchers use to understand the quality and behavior of the models we train including what models are doing, why they behave in a particular way, and how that behavior changes across experiments. Neptune is a core part of this work. It ingests, stores, queries, and visualizes large volumes of metrics from pretraining, post-training, and reinforcement learning. Hundreds of researchers depend on these systems in their daily work to compare experiments, debug unexpected behavior, and decide what to try next. Our scope is broader than metrics. We also build platforms that help researchers analyze samples, traces, evaluation results, and other structured or unstructured data through dashboards, APIs, and increasingly agent-driven workflows. These systems need to remain fast, reliable, and understandable as the scale and complexity of research change quickly. We are not trying to become a consulting team that builds a separate solution for every research project. We work directly with researchers to understand recurring problems, then turn them into reusable infrastructure and platform capabilities that many teams can build on. About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on experienced software engineer who can take ownership of a critical system and drive it from problem definition through production adoption. This person should be able to own a platform such as CacheHouse end to end: define its technical direction, design its data model and storage architecture, integrate it with several research dashboards and workflows, guide one or two engineers, and ensure the system works reliably for its users. The right candidate should already bring the technical judgment, ownership, and execution expected at this level. The primary learning curve should be OpenAI’s stack and research problem space, not learning how to lead a complex engineering effort or deliver a production system. You will work directly with

OpenAI's customers represent a range of diverse backgrounds and maturity, from individual customers to early-stage startups and established global enterprises. Given OpenAI’s breakneck shipping cadence and growth – and the expectation that it will only accelerate – our ability to architect automation systems and agentic workflows for scale is central to our ability to maintain exceptional support quality in the face of AGI. About the Role We are seeking a Support Operations Lead who combines operational leadership, systems thinking, vendor management, and hands-on execution. You’ll own service health, automation programs, partner and vendor management. In addition to delivering high-quality service, you’ll identify opportunities to reduce manual work, experiment with tools and help operationalize AI across support at scale. This is not a traditional support operations lead role. We’re looking for someone to help us define the future of support, who thrive at the intersection of team/project management, systems building, data science/engineering, and with deep craft experience in the support operations space. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: Lead and evolve organizational design for our frontline operations across partner and vendor management, coaching teams to expand automation and deliver measurable capacity gains. Lead multi-site partner management, including commercial ownership, capacity planning and workfor
