By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F , led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products. THE ROLE: Voice is becoming the internet’s next interface, but a production-grade Voice AI system is "hard to build" . You’ll join a small founding team of Baseten Voice AI, focused on bringing state-of-the-art open source models into production for Voice AI customers across productivity, customer service, clinical conversation, creator tools, education, and more. You’ll make a meaningful impact on people’s daily lives and help reshape these industries. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role. You will be the primary owner of Baseten Voice AI - our in-house inference stack to power Voice AI models - from product roadmap through engineering implementation. You’ll partner closely with Forward Deployed Engineers, Model Performance Engineers, and sister engineering teams to push the boundaries of Voice AI. EXAMPLE INITIATIVES: Develop world-class model serving stack for state-of-the-art open-source voice models - reduce end-to-end and tail latency (p95/p99), increase throughput, and improve GPU efficiency via profiling, runtime tuning, and server-level optimizations. Build large-scale, real-time infrastructure for multi-model voice agents - orchestrate STT, TTS, and agent components with streaming I/O to meet customer SLOs. Design tight training and inference iteration loops for voice model customization - enable fast evaluation, safe rollout, and rapid experimentation for custom voice model development. Past projects:

About Us: AI needs a new infrastructure layer. We're building it at Modal. Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now. Our customers include category-defining companies like Lovable , Ramp , Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We recently raised a $355M Series C at a $4.65B valuation, led by General Catalyst and Redpoint Ventures. We've crossed $300M+ ARR and grown fivefold since September. Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g., Seaborn , Luig i ), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience. The Role: We're looking for a Detection & Response Engineer to build the systems that help us identify, investigate, and respond to threats across our platform. This is an engineering role focused on automation. You'll build detections, investigation tooling, and response capabilities that scale with our infrastructure, using AI where it meaningfully improves signal, investigation speed, and operational effectiveness. You'll work closely with infrastructure, platform, and security engineers to ensure every incident makes the platform more resilient. What You'll Work On: Detection Engineering Design and build high-fidelity detections for attacks, abuse, and anomalous behavior across our infrastructure and production systems Continuously improve detections based on telemetry, threat intelligence, and lessons learned from incidents Improve visibility across cloud infrastruc

This is a foundational, high-ownership role for someone who wants to define how a company runs procurement, not inherit an existing process. As the company scales across engineering, GTM, and corporate functions, we need to build purchasing workflows and vendor relationships. This is a rare, critical-moment hire: you'll set the leading-practice processes, systems, and policies that the company runs on as it continues to grow, with the mandate and dedicated focus to build something built to scale. This role exists to make procurement a source of leverage for the business, not friction. The Role We are hiring a Head of Field and Events to own how Coder wins in person. This is one of three pillars in our marketing strategy, where brand, narrative, and pipeline meet the customer face to face. This is a player-coach role. You will set the strategy for our field and events program and run it with your own hands. You will pick the events that matter, design the experiences around them, and make sure every dollar and every hour on the ground turns into pipeline. Early on you will do much of the execution yourself. As the program proves out, you will build and lead the team behind it. You will report to the CMO and work shoulder to shoulder with sales, demand generation, product marketing, and partnerships. If you like owning a number, being close to customers, and turning a room into revenue, this is your seat. What You Will Own Strategy and planning. Set the field and events strategy tied to pipeline and revenue targets, and own the calendar across conferences, regional programs, and owned events. Third-party events. Choose the right conferences and trade shows, negotiate sponsorships, design the booth and on-site experience, and run flawless execution from load-in to follow-up. Owned events. Build and run Coder's own moments: executive dinners, roadshows, user groups, hackathons, and hands-on workshops that put the product in front of the right people. Field marketing. Design regional field programs with sales that generate and accelerate pipeline in priority markets and named accounts. Pipeline and ROI. Own the number for events-sourced and events-influenced pipeline. Set targets, track spend, and report ROI in a way the whole company can see. Lead flow. Build the lead capture and follow-up motion so no lead falls through. Partner with demand gen and sales ops on routing, qualification, and speed to first touch. Message on the ground. Work with product marketing to make sure the story on stage, at the booth, and in the room is sharp and consistent wit
