Job Description
Operate a full web screen digital press, ensuring efficient and high-quality output. Conduct daily startup, calibration, cleaning, and preventative maintenance. Load and unload print media, handling materials safely and efficiently. Process RIP files using proprietary printer software. Monitor color consistency, making adjustments and recalibrating as needed to meet customer specifications. Maintain accurate logs for ink, paper, production, maintenance, and repairs. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues, collaborating with service technicians and supervisors when necessary. Communicate clearly with prepress, pressroom, and support teams to ensure smooth workflow.
High school diploma or GED preferred 1–3 years of experience in a pressroom, prepress, or bindery operator role within a printing environment. Strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow detailed work instructions. Excellent computer skills and basic math proficiency; ability to read a ruler and interpret job specifications. Keen attention to detail; able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to see and monitor color accurately. Effective communication skills for teamwork and troubleshooting.
Operates in a manufacturing/press room environment with exposure to loud noise, ink, and paper dust. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Ability to lift and move heavy rolls and print materials (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs]). Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Must be available for shifts that may include evenings, weekends, or overtime during peak production periods.
