Member of Technical Staff (Software Engineer, Backend Platform)

About the Role The Enterprise Knowledge Platform team builds the data layer that lets Perplexity's agents reach into the world's software. This team owns the systems that turn hundreds of heterogeneous integrations (native, MCP, CLI, first-party, and third-party APIs) into one unified, reliable, well-typed surface that agents can call with confidence. This platform is the core layer that forms the knowledge layer for Computer: it is how the agent discovers what tools exist, understands what each one means, decides which to call, and grounds its reasoning in real, permissioned, up-to-date enterprise data. We maintain a knowledge layer above connectors that pushes and pulls context into them, rather than letting each connector hoard org knowledge on its own, making Computer the source of truth for institutional knowledge. Models are commoditizing; grounded, actionable, permissioned access to a customer's real systems is not. When this layer is fast, accurate, and semantically rich, every agent built on top of it gets smarter; when it is weak, no amount of model quality compensates. Key Responsibilities Own the design and implementation of the connector runtime, the system that registers, hosts, and executes built-in connectors, hosted MCP servers, and CLI-backed tools behind a single agent-facing interface. Build and extend the semantic layer: tool and entity schemas, capability metadata, relationship modeling, and the mechanisms for capturing and applying organization- and account-specific corrections and knowledge. Design the tool-discovery and tool-selection surfaces that agents use to find the right connector and call it correctly, optimizing for both model accuracy and context efficiency. Make agent loops robust: structured results, partial-failure and retry semantics, idempotency, pagination, rate-limit handling, and observability into every tool call an agent makes. Define authentication, authorization, and credential-isolation patterns for connectors (OAuth fl

About the Role The Infrastructure team builds and operates the foundational systems behind Perplexity’s products. At Perplexity, infrastructure sits on the critical path of every answer, supporting real-time search, retrieval, model serving, and agent workloads where latency, reliability, and rapid iteration directly shape the user experience. This role is for strong infrastructure engineers whose experience spans multiple domains and who are energized by cross-cutting problems that do not fit neatly within a single platform team. You do not need to be a specialist in every area. Scope ranges from owning major production systems to setting technical direction across teams, leading complex infrastructure programs, and shaping infrastructure strategy across the organization. If a specialized Cloud Infrastructure, Storage Platform, Backend Platform, Data Platform, Connector Platform, or AI Acceleration role clearly matches your expertise and interests, apply directly to it. If your experience spans several infrastructure domains or you are most energized by cross-cutting systems problems, apply here. Submit one application, and we will consider you across the Infrastructure organization. Key Responsibilities Own cross-cutting infrastructure problems that span compute, storage, networking, data, deployment, and reliability, including eliminating bottlenecks across retrieval and serving paths, building shared abstractions across deployment environments, and resolving failure modes that cross platform boundaries. Design, build, and operate distributed infrastructure supporting Perplexity’s consumer, AI, and enterprise workloads, owning systems from architecture through production operation. Identify gaps between existing platforms and build shared abstractions, automation, and tooling that make infrastructure easier and safer to use. Improve system performance, availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency across online request traffic and background workloads. Debug com

We are hiring builders to define how people talk to, show things to, and hear from AI In 2026, we launched Computer, the defining product for the new era of agentic AI. We've scaled beyond the millions of people using Perplexity every day for research, shopping, investing and curiosity into a new paradigm of using AI to transform knowledge into action. The Multimodal team builds the experiences and infrastructure that move AI interaction beyond touch and text — realtime voice, vision, and the platform systems behind them. We own the full path from a user speaking into a device to an answer coming back: the realtime session infrastructure that connects clients to frontier audio models, the backend orchestration that routes, records, and supervises live sessions, and the SDK that powers voice and multimodal experiences across Perplexity's apps. As a backend engineer on Multimodal, you will design and scale the distributed systems that carry live voice sessions in production — and drive entirely new products at the intersection of voice, vision, and agents. Why Perplexity is Different Craftsmanship. We build high quality, tasteful products targeting both the AI native and AI curious. Ownership. You identify the problem, design the solution and ship it. Entrepreneurship. We think like founders, act with urgency, and hustle to deliver for each other and our users. Scholarship. Work among highly talented peers, pursuing knowledge and truth, upleveling ourselves, our teams, and our products. Partnership. We amplify each others' strengths, break down silos, and give selflessly to help our colleagues deliver excellence. What you'll do Design, build, and scale the backend session-worker architecture that powers realtime voice: durable per-session workers, provider routing, and stateful streaming over gRPC. Own distributed-systems problems end-to-end — session lifecycle, crash recovery, reconnection and replay, multi-region deployment, and graceful degradation under real produ

Perplexity is looking for a frontend engineer to build the design system behind every Perplexity product. It is the component library and design language shared across web, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows – the primitives, tokens, and interaction patterns that every product team builds on top of. Its users are internal, spanning product teams and a broad range of contributors across the company. The components you build become the foundation all of them rely on. You will develop component APIs that hold up across dozens of consuming surfaces and are easy for other teams to adopt correctly, contribute to the token pipeline that keeps five platforms visually consistent, and maintain a high bar for interaction quality and accessibility. Tech Stack: React · TypeScript · CSS · Design Tokens What you'll do Design and build core primitives – overlays, inputs, navigation, feedback – with APIs that stay coherent as consumers multiply Work across the design-token pipeline – authoring, generation, and per-platform publishing across web, iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows Partner directly with design on the design language itself, translating Figma systems into typed, testable, documented components Migrate product surfaces off bespoke implementations onto shared primitives without breaking them Build accessible components by default – keyboard, focus, contrast, screen readers – backed by automated coverage Support consuming teams through docs, visual regression coverage, and on-call rotation What we're looking for 4+ years building production frontend; experience with a design system, component library, or shared UI platform is a plus Interest in building reusable components Strong React and TypeScript, and CSS Working accessibility knowledge (WCAG, ARIA patterns, assistive tech) Comfort collaborating closely with designers on the visual and interaction language

About Sentry Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building. Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future. About the role Sentry already sees the moment software breaks: the error, the trace, the replay, the commit that caused it. Seer, our AI debugger, uses all of that to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. We're looking for a Staff engineer to help decide how that system should evolve as models improve every few months. Some of what we build today will be obsolete by next spring. Part of the job is knowing which parts, and building the rest to last. In this role you will Build state-of-the-art agentic AI systems to triage, debug, and solve real production issues Set technical direction for how our agents get context, use tools, and decide when they're done Build the evals that tell us whether a new model or prompt actually helped, fast enough that people use them Decide when to use a frontier model, a smaller one, or one we trained, and revisit that as cost and capability shift Leverage Sentry’s novel (and massive) dataset of errors, spans, and profiles Own major AI initiatives end to end, alongside the developers and product teams shipping them Run what you ship in production and debug it with Sentry You'll love this job if you Are driven by impact and enjoy working on high-stakes, high-visibility projects Enjoy building things. You will have the opportunity to join the AI/ML team as one of its foundational members Thrive in cross-functional teams and enjoy building features alongside developers and product teams Qualifications You've shipped an LLM-backed system people depended on, and can tell us what broke You have strong opinions on agent design and have changed at least one in the last year You've trained or fin
