THE ROLE We're looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager to own billing, contract review, and revenue recognition as Baseten scales. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who wants full ownership of the revenue cycle at a company where deal structures are getting more complex: usage-based pricing, committed capacity, credits, multi-year enterprise contracts, and new business models coming online. You'll join Lauren, who built Baseten's quote-to-cash function from the ground up, to take on billing, contract review, and revenue recognition as deal volume and complexity grow. Having completed our first year-end audit, we're now focused on tightening contract review processes, close procedures, and reporting rigor to support the scale ahead. You'll partner closely with Lauren, FP&A, Sales, Legal, and Revenue Operations to make sure every deal is structured, billed, and recognized correctly from day one. Baseten is building the infrastructure layer for AI-native companies, and we're scaling quickly - in deal volume, contract complexity, and customer size. THE ROLE We're looking for a Finance Systems Lead to own and evolve the systems that support Baseten's finance operations, including ERP, planning tools, and the broader finance and adjacent systems stack, spanning HRIS/payroll, CPQ, and commissions, as we implement, integrate, and automate across them. As Baseten scales, so does the number of systems finance depends on and touches, from the ERP to planning to compensation and quote to cash tooling. This role exists to bring a dedicated owner to that stack, someone who can lead implementations (partnering with contractors or vendor CSMs for hands-on technical configuration where needed), keep systems integrated and clean as we grow, and find automation opportunities that save the team time. This is a highly cross-functional role. You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, People, Sales and Revenue Operations, Legal, and IT to understand how each team uses its systems, and design integrations and workflows that serve the business without creating more manual work. We work cross-functionally with Technical Revenue, Finance Data, and Revenue Systems teams to support complex commercial arrangements, improve operational efficiency, and maintain financial integrity. About the Role As a Revenue Accounting Manager, you will own revenue accounting processes for consumption and usage-based revenue recognition while helping implement and maintain the systems, data flows, and accounting rules that support accurate financial reporting. You will serve as a key execution partner on onboarding new revenue streams, Fusion Accounting Hub rule updates, translating accounting requirements into expected journal entries, source-to-general-ledger mappings, user acceptance testing, data validation, and controlled operating processes. We’re looking for a hands-on revenue accounting owner who combines strong close discipline with systems and data fluency, independently coordinates cross-functional implementation work, and strengthens the accounting infrastructure supporting OpenAI’s growth. The role will guide accounting for products, pricing, contracts, incentives, credits, refunds, makegoods, international expansion, and new go-to-market motions. It will establish governance and translate approved accounting positions into launch, billing, data, close, reconciliation, and control requirements. Success requires deep technical revenue expertise, strong business partnership, and the ability to build durable 0-to-1 processes in a fast-changing environment.
