Within this organization, our IP and Legal Compliance Operations teams are dedicated to protecting Intellectual Property, ensuring strict regulatory compliance, and facilitating a safe, fair environment for rights holders, developers, and users. We scale Operations and elevate our users’ experience through a multi‑year vision, rigorous execution, and data‑driven decision making. You will be reporting to the Manager Data Operations and act as the data SME for both IP and Compliance Operations, working closely with other domain-specific data analysts on the team. This position is critical to understanding, optimizing, and reporting on the operational performance of our Intellectual Property enforcement and our Legal Compliance workflows. The Global Safety Response Operations team within the org provides 24/7 coverage for user safety, risk, and regulatory escalations across OpenAI’s products, handling the highest-priority cases that require human judgment and rapid response. The team operates as the core escalations management and delivery arm of OpenAI’s safety operations, ensuring that our products remain safe and aligned with our policies while enabling timely, empathetic, and consistent user support. You will apply your technical skills to uphold our principles of safety, transparency, and oversight while enforcing our terms of service and acceptable use policies. Responsibilities: Independently scope and lead complex, multi-month infrastructure projects, from an ambiguous starting point through to a production system Develop monitoring systems to detect unwanted behaviors from our API partners and potentially take automated enforcement actions; surface these in internal dashboards to analysts for manual review Stand up and run deployments of those monitoring systems across multiple clouds, including inside cloud-provider partner environments where data residency laws apply.
