Job description
Opportunity Overview: We’re looking for a senior-level automation engineer who will help raise the bar on release quality, environment reliability, and change safety across Cohere’s platform. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Platform, and SRE to build scalable automation, guardrails, and validation systems that reduce production risk while increasing delivery velocity. This is not a “test scripts only” role. You’ll shape automation strategy, embed quality into the SDLC, and help define how changes move safely from dev → staging → UAT → prod in a fast-moving healthcare platform. You’ll help define how quality scales as Cohere grows. This role has real influence over release safety, platform reliability, and how engineering teams ship software in a regulated, high-impact domain. Qualification
3+ years in QA Automation, SDET, or test engineering roles supporting production systems Strong hands-on experience building automation frameworks for UI and API testing from the ground up, and setting up repeatable datasets Deep experience with modern E2E frameworks (Playwright or Cypress) using TypeScript Strong API automation experience (REST-based testing frameworks) Strong CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions or similar) Experience validating cloud-native systems on AWS Comfortable working in microservices and event-driven architectures Experience testing configuration-driven systems, feature flags, and environment-specific behavior Strong debugging skills across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers Proven ability to partner with platform / infra teams on release pipelines and deployment safety Nice-to-haves Performance and reliability testing experience (e.g., k6 or similar) Healthcare or regulated domain experience Ability to commute/relocate: Hyderabad, Telangana*: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred) Interview Process*: Connect with Talent Acquisition Meet with the Hiring Manager Behavioral Interview(s) Case Study Interview with Sen
