Unless a specific job description explicitly states otherwise, all roles are on-site five days per week at one of our offices in McLean, VA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; or Tampa, FL. Certain roles — such as field-based sales or other remote-by-design positions — may have different work arrangements as noted in their individual postings. At IDMe, we embrace the thoughtful use of AI tools in our daily work and there are even occasions where we leverage AI in our hiring process. However, during the interview process, we want to understand your individual skills and experiences. Therefore, we have guidelines on how AI can be appropriately used during your application and interviews which can be found here . Role Overview ID.me is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to join the Commerce & Loyalty team and build Shop, the platform that connects members of trusted communities (military, first responders, teachers, nurses, students, and government employees) with exclusive offers, cashback, and benefits from leading brands. You will craft the member-facing experience with a modern frontend stack (Next.js and React), shaping how millions of members discover offers and claim rewards. This role is 5 days a week onsite in Mountain View, CA. You will work on a team where AI-first development is the default: AI tooling is woven through how we design, build, test, and ship. Partnering with the Product, Design, Application, QE, API, and Infrastructure teams, you will deliver fast, delightful, and reliable experiences at scale, and hold them up under major peak-traffic events. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain the Shop member experience with Next.js and React. Develop responsive, accessible, high-performance UI for offer discovery, cashback, and rewards. Integrate the frontend with backend REST and GraphQL services and internal identity systems. Contribute to and reuse a shared design system and component library. Optimize frontend performance and reliability (Core Web Vitals, rendering strategy) under peak shopping traffic. Practice AI-first development: use AI tooling across implementation, testing, and review, with the judgment to verify and steer its output. Uphold the security and privacy of member data on the client. Collaborate across the Product, Design, Application, QE, API, and Infrastructure teams to ship features end to end. Write high-quality, well-tested code with automated tests and observability instrumentation. Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years building web applications, with strong frontend depth in React and Next.js. Proficiency with TypeScript and modern frontend tooling. AI-first development: fluent using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as a core part of how you build, with the discipline to validate their output. Proven ability to deliver features end to end, including automated test coverage, observability, monitoring, and documentation. Experience building in a containerized, cloud-based, infrastructure-as-code ecosystem; exposure to GCP with Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad. Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly and work collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications Building and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs in production. Performance optimization for high-traffic consumer web (Core Web Vitals, SSR/ISR, caching). Experience with design systems and component libraries. Accessibility standards (WCAG) and building inclusive UIs. E-commerce, marketplace, offers/affiliate, loyalty, or payments domains. Backend familiarity for full-stack contribution. Event-driven architectures and cloud-native patterns. The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role. IDMe offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, health savings account, flexible spending accounts (medical, limited purpose, dependent care, commuter benefit accounts), basic and voluntary life and AD&D insurance, 401(k) with company match, parental leave, ability to participate in unlimited paid time off subject to the terms and conditions of the PTO policy, including 8 company wide holidays, short and long-term disability insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, referral bonus policy, employee assistance program, pet insurance, travel assistant program, wellbeing and childcare discounts, benefit advocates, and a learning and development benefit. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on qualifications, professional experiences, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location, and other job related factors.
