About the Team The Codex Web Layer team provides the web-based systems and user experiences for Codex across the entire stack, from the Electron-like application framework that powers the application, to the user-facing in-app browser. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure and features end-to-end for the Codex desktop client application. You will help define what it means to be a hybrid agentic/interactive web browser. The team embodies “full stack” development from the lowest-level OS integration to the highest-level interaction design. This role is based in San Francisco. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role you will: Partner closely with product and design to conceive, design, and build features for Codex web browsing features on macOS and Windows. This role will focus mostly on the backend C++ layer and Chromium, but many features cross the full stack including some TypeScript. Partner with the wider Codex team to deliver a high-performance, stable, and secure application platform for client development. This includes API design and implementation (mostly in C++) and the infrastructure that supports deploying it (in Python, TypeScript, and agentic skills). Work with a small, experienced team of engineers on this critical and rapidly growing product. You might thrive in this role if you: Have significant experience building technically complex features end-to-end. Are a strong C++ developer, especially with experience in browser environments like Chromium and Electron. Since this role is more backend focused, general knowledge of web development and TypeScript is helpful but not required. Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Communicate clearly and concisely across many different roles in the organization. Are self-directed, identifying important work and executing it end-to-end. About OpenAI OpenAI is an AI

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role: You want to build and run elegant and thorough machine learning experiments to help us understand and steer the behavior of powerful AI systems. You care about making AI helpful, honest, and harmless, and are interested in the ways that this could be challenging in the context of human-level capabilities. You could describe yourself as both a scientist and an engineer. As a Research Engineer on Alignment Science, you'll contribute to exploratory experimental research on AI safety, with a focus on risks from powerful future systems (like those we would designate as ASL-3 or ASL-4 under our Responsible Scaling Policy ), often in collaboration with other teams including Interpretability, Fine-Tuning, and the Frontier Red Team. Our blog provides an overview of topics that the Alignment Science team is either currently exploring or has previously explored. For the London team, we are opportunistically hiring for the following research areas: AI Control: Creating methods to ensure advanced AI systems remain safe and harmless in unfamiliar or adversarial scenarios. Alignment Stress-testing : Creating model organisms of misalignment to improve our empirical understanding of how alignment failures might arise. Note: Currently, the team's hub is in San Francisco, so we require all candidates to be based at least 25% in London and travel to San Francisco occasionally. Additionally, we are prioritizing growing our San Francisco teams, so you may not hear back on your application to the London team unless we see an unusually strong fit. replit
📍 Foster City• Full-time
3mo ago

Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation. The AI Studio is the team responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing internal software platforms across every functional department of the company, including People Operations, Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Recruiting, and Executive Operations. We treat each internal department as its own product surface, and in truth as its own startup, with its own customers, its own metrics, and its own reasons for existing. We ship custom software, built on Replit’s own platform, to solve operational problems that off-the-shelf SaaS tools cannot serve well at our scale and pace of growth. Position Summary The Member of Technical Staff (AI Builder) is a full-time builder role with substantial autonomy. You will design, architect, and ship AI-powered internal platforms that run the operations of the company across many departments at once. This is not a role for someone who wants a narrow, well-defined lane. It is a role for someone who wants to walk into an ambiguous business problem, understand it well enough to argue about it with the department lead, and then ship the software that fixes it. We are looking for people who genuinely understand the mechanics of a business: how revenue is actually made, why recruiting velocity matters, what makes support scale or break, how finance closes a month, and why each department is critical to whether the company wins or loses. You do not need to have run every function, but you need to respect why each one exists and be able to reason about it like an operator, not just an engineer. Because we treat each department as its own startup, we strongly favor people who have either run their own business or worked on a fast-scaling startup. You know what it feels like
