About the role The Staff Forward Deployed Solutions Engineer will work directly within a business domain (e.g., Commercial, Clinical Operations, Lab Operations, Sales & Marketing, Customer Experience etc.). In your role, you’ll find opportunities for enhancing efficiency and productivity by looking for workflows which can be executed 10–100x faster or more often than a human team could using AI agents, integrations and other patterns. You will build, deploy, and run them in production. You report into the central AI & Automation team, partner directly with domain leadership on priorities, and bring patterns back so the whole company compounds. Find the leverage in your domain Map the workflows in your domain — the ones running today, and the ones that don’t exist yet because they weren’t feasible without agents or automation tools. Identify the step-change opportunities: where AI, ML, or automation unlock throughput, coverage, or speed. Build the business case, quantify projected impact, and align with domain leadership on priorities. Design the future-state workflow Map structured and unstructured data flows across the systems involved (CRM, ERP, ticketing, document stores, internal tools, external SaaS). Define the target workflow: what the agent does, what the human does, and where they hand off. Figure out what context the agent or model needs to do the work well — and how to get it there reliably (retrieval, grounding, tool access, memory). Design human-in-the-loop checkpoints so review adds value without becoming the bottleneck. Build and connect the systems Stand up agents and automation pipelines using the organization’s approved AI platforms and frameworks. Connect agents to business systems — via MCP servers, APIs, webhooks, CLIs, and skills — within the guardrails set by IT and security. Configure tools, prompts, context, and retrieval pipelines so agents perform reliably on real work, not just in demos. Handle integration gnarliness:

Modal
📍 Stockholm• Full-time
9mo ago

About Us: AI needs a new infrastructure layer. We're building it at Modal. Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now. Our customers include category-defining companies like Lovable , Ramp , Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We recently raised a $355M Series C at a $4.65B valuation, led by General Catalyst and Redpoint Ventures. We've crossed $300M+ ARR and grown fivefold since September. Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g., Seaborn , Luig i ), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience. The Role: Modal is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to partner with our sales team and drive technical sales success. As an FDE, you will be the technical voice in our sales process, working directly with Account Executives to help enterprise customers understand how Modal can transform their AI/ML infrastructure. You will: Partner with Account Executives to identify, qualify, and close strategic enterprise opportunities Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective customers to understand their current infrastructure, pain points, and requirements Design and present compelling technical solutions that demonstrate how Modal addresses customer needs Architect migration paths from existing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) to Modal's serverless platform Conduct technical demos, experiments, and proof-of-concepts that showcase Modal's capabilitie

Ramp
📍 New York• Full-time• Remote• $189K – $330K/yr

About Ramp Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books. The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving. We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome. The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same. If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it. About the Role As a software engineer on the AI Solutions team, you will co-lead customer engagements with an AI Solutions Strategist . The Strategist owns business discovery, ROI narrative, stakeholder alignment, and rollout planning. The engineer owns technical discovery, solution design, prototyping, implementation, and production readiness. This is a deeply client-facing role. You will spend significant time with customers and end users, moving projects from bootcamp and workflow discovery through implementation, launch, and steady production usage. What You’ll Do Translate customer goals into clear system requirements and non-functional requirements covering security, privacy, reliability, performance, scalability, and cost. Partner directly with customers to understand current workflows, constraints, systems, data quality, and adoption blockers. OpenAI
📍 San Francisco• Full-time• Remote• $333K – $370K/yr
12 days ago

About the Team OpenAI’s Physical Engineering work explores how frontier AI can help people design, simulate, and build better physical products. We work directly with customers to identify high-value engineering applications that shorten development cycles, improve product performance, and create measurable business value. About the Role We are hiring a Physical Engineering Business Lead to bring firsthand product engineering experience into our customer work. You’ll combine deep familiarity with CAD, simulation, or related engineering tools with the ability to lead customer discovery, explain complex ideas clearly, and turn promising use cases into high-impact projects. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role. You’ll work closely with customer engineering teams, senior leaders, forward-deployed engineers (FDEs), and account teams from early discovery through delivery. You’ll help frame valuable design and simulation problems, guide projects with practical engineering judgment, and support adoption and measurable outcomes. You’ll also turn what we learn from customers into product feedback, reusable delivery methods, and recommendations for our go-to-market and partnership strategies. As the work grows, this role may evolve into broader practice leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead discovery and workshops with customer engineering teams and senior leaders to identify high-value design and simulation use cases Develop promising use cases into significant projects with FDE and account teams, forming clear hypotheses about value, feasibility, engineering constraints, and adoption Work alongside FDEs and customer teams through delivery, bringing practical engineering context, surfacing risks early, and helping projects achieve measurable outcomes Explain how AI can improve physical-product engineering, grounded in real experience with CAD, simulation, engineering workflows, and design tradeoffs Build customer confidence through clear technical storytelling, compelling

We're looking for a Tech Principal to lead technical strategy and execution on our most ambitious product work: lighthouse projects inside Thoughtworks' global Customer Experience, Product and Design team. Here's the shape of it. A client arrives with a big idea and not much time. Within a few days, you've helped them turn it into a concept everyone agrees on. Within a few weeks, there's something real that customers can actually use and react to. Within a quarter, it's live. Then you do it again, somewhere else in the world, with a different team, and you leave both of them better at it than they were before. If you have built a career integrating strategy, architecture, AI engineering, and executive collaboration, this role offers an ideal platform to leverage those skills. The approach you'd be leading: We call it 3/3/3 3 days: Product concept. Everyone aligned on scope, objectives and how we'll measure success. 3 weeks: Working prototype. Desirability, viability and feasibility tested with real users. 3 months: MLP launch. A production-grade minimum lovable product, ready to keep evolving. Think of it as a reference tempo rather than a fixed schedule. The sequence is what we believe in: align quickly, get real evidence early, put something usable in front of customers while the idea is still current. A regulated platform with a heavy integration surface won't run like a greenfield mobile app, and reading the difference is part of the job. AI runs through all of it, and not as a feature we add at the end. We use AI across the whole lifecycle, from specification and design through build, test and operations, and you'd be one of the people defining what good looks like there. Who you'd work with We work in tight forward-deployed pods: one Product Strategist, one Experience Designer, and two Forward-Deployed Engineers. You're one of the FDEs — the lead engineer on the pod — guiding architecture, delivery cadence, and technical commercial choices, while collaborating
