Who We Are: At Bandwidth , we shape how the world connects. We're the global communications software company and Tier 1 network operator with global reach. The voice, messaging, and emergency services infrastructure behind the brands and apps you use every day. Because we own the network we build on, the problems you'll solve here are bigger, more complex, and more impactful. And as communications shifts to AI, we're the infrastructure layer making it possible. We call ourselves BANDmates because building something this big takes collaboration, different perspectives, and the freedom to bring your authentic self to the table. We're experts who speak like humans. Ready to build what's next? #JoinTheBand What We Are Looking For: Bandwidth is looking for a Sales Account Manager to take over an established book of about 350 SMB customers, worth roughly $8MM in annual recurring revenue. Half the job is protecting what we have: keeping customers healthy, responsive, and confident in Bandwidth. The other half is finding where they could do more with us. That means moving smaller accounts upmarket and winning traffic that large customers are still sending to competitors. Your success is measured on the performance of your book, so judging where to spend your time matters nearly as much as how you sell. What You'll Do: Take ownership of an existing book of ~350 SMB accounts, roughly $8MM ARR, as the primary point of contact. Use account data (spend trends, product mix, and usage volume) to decide which accounts need attention, which have room to grow, and which are at risk. Protect and grow the total revenue of your book. Retain existing spend, catch risk early, and expand where there's opportunity. Move customers upmarket through product expansion and winning a larger share of wallet from customers who use multiple providers. Build relationships with several contacts at each key account, from technical stakeholders to business decision-makers. Learn each custome

About this Team The HR Business Partner (HRBP) team at OpenAI partners with leaders to navigate complex organizational and talent decisions where the right path is not always obvious. We are building a higher-leverage HRBP model: staying close enough to the business to understand its realities, while focusing our time on the work that requires judgment, influence, context, and leadership partnership. This role is for an HRBP who can diagnose ambiguous situations, translate business strategy into organizational and talent decisions, coach leaders through consequential choices, and help build the operating rhythms that enable scale. While the role spans both strategic and operational work, the bar is not to be helpful on everything. The bar is to improve decision quality, strengthen leadership capability, and increase organizational effectiveness. We operate with urgency, empathy, and sound judgment. We value sincerity, intellectual honesty, and collaboration over ego, and focus relentlessly on creating meaningful impact. About this Role This role is part of a shared hiring pathway for HRBPs at OpenAI. Instead of hiring directly for a single team, we evaluate candidates holistically first, then identify the best fit across our organization as you advance. This approach ensures alignment between your skills, interests, and where our needs are greatest—whether that’s partnering with technical leaders in engineering, supporting product teams driving user impact, or enabling operational excellence across business functions. As a Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor to leaders and their teams. You’ll help set direction for how we organize, grow, and lead—stepping in as both a sounding board and a problem-solver. This role mixes strategic advising with hands-on support: you’ll design better systems, coach managers through complex situations, and help us make trade-offs that keep our people and mission in balance. Working closely with product, design, and technical leads, you'll turn customer problems into clear priorities and achievable milestones. You'll develop engineers, make trade-offs explicit, and keep work moving without letting quality or maintainability become someone else's problem. You'll also run an AI-native team .
