Objective vs summary
A summary looks backward at relevant experience; an objective explains the direction you are moving toward. Experienced candidates usually benefit more from a summary, while a fresher may have more value in a concise objective.
A useful objective formula
Use: current foundation + target role + relevant skill/project/experience + contribution you are prepared to make. Avoid describing only what you want from the employer.
βElectrical engineering graduate seeking an entry-level maintenance role, with hands-on academic project work in power systems and practical knowledge of electrical safety, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance fundamentals.β
What to avoid
This is polite but says almost nothing about the role, evidence or relevant foundation. Replace broad ambition with information a hiring manager can use.
βTo work in a reputed organization where I can grow my skills and achieve success while contributing to company growth.β
Career-change objectives
Name the new direction and connect it to real transferable evidence. Do not erase your previous career. A good objective makes the transition understandable without pretending you already held the target job.
