Our Application Security team is at the forefront of that challenge — building AI-native security tooling, embedding security into the development lifecycle at scale, and finding ways to make a small, highly capable team punch well above its weight. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow the AppSec team. This is not a coordination role. You'll be leading a team of exceptionally senior and staff-level engineers who are deeply self-directed and technically excellent. To earn their trust and enable their best work, you'll need to be genuinely close to the craft — able to engage at depth on threat modelling, agentic security tooling, SDLC design, and application risk. About the role Synthesia's long-term vision is to build the best human-interactive models: systems that don't just talk to people, but perceive and respond to them, reacting to a user's actions and emotions, not only their words. Today over 60,000 businesses rely on our platform, and the next leap in what we can offer them depends on models that combine text, audio, and video into a single real-time interactive experience. As a Staff Research Engineer, you'll join the Voice team within our 40+ person R&D department, but your scope will extend well beyond voice. You'll work directly with our voice lead and collaborate tightly with our video teams and other senior members of the org. Concretely, you'll work on voice to voice models that produce text and voice simultaneously. Models that can reason, interrupt the user with back channeling and talk. Models that feel like you are having a natural conversation with, without the feeling of turn taking that is dominant in current speech to speech models. Your role would be

Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk. About Okta for AI Agents Okta secures access for 20,000 organizations and billions of users. Okta for AI Agents extends that work to the agentic shift. Deploying an AI agent is not like deploying traditional software. You are putting professional work output into production, and it needs deep integration, continuous tuning, and change management. Every agent needs an identity, a scope, an audit trail, and a way to be shut down when it goes wrong. Most enterprises have not built this yet. We are. We hire builders who see the cracks in enterprise agent identity that everyone else has learned to live with. The Role You are the most senior technical field authority for agent identity at Okta. Where a Senior FDE owns the outcome inside one account, you own the patterns that every account and every FDE inherits. You take the hardest and most strategic deployments yourself, set the reference architecture the team builds from, and turn what the field learns into the direction the product takes. You still write code. You also multiply the people around you, and you are the person product and engineering leadership call when an agent identity problem has no precedent. Responsibilities Own the reference architecture. Define the canonical agent identity, delegation, audit, and kill-switch patterns that Senior FDEs deploy across the portfolio, and keep them current as the standards and the product move. Lead the hardest accounts. Personally own the most strategic, regul

About Ema Ema is building the world’s leading Agentic AI platform to transform enterprise productivity. We enable organizations to delegate repetitive tasks to Ema, the Universal AI Employee, delivering 10x gains in workforce efficiency, across functions. Founded by former executives from Google, Coinbase, Flipkart, and Okta, our team includes engineers from premier tech companies and graduates of Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, CMU, and IITs. We are backed by industry leading investors including Accel, Naspers/Prosus, Section32, and angels like Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz. Headquartered in Silicon Valley and with offices in London, Bangalore and Vancouver, Ema is at the frontier of what Agentic AI can do in production — we ship real systems that run real business processes at scale. The Role You'll be an engineer who builds AI agents in production, sitting close to the customers who depend on them. This is a full-stack engineering job with an unusually short distance between your code and someone's actual workday. You'll write Go and Python, design schemas, build evals, and present your solution to a senior executive at an enterprise - often in the same week. What You'll Do Design and ship production agents. You'll build agents that are mission-critical from day one: embedded in Teams, Slack, intranets, voice lines, and email, taking real actions against SAP, ServiceNow, Workday, and a long tail of systems nobody has heard of. These run at enterprise volume under enterprise scrutiny. Own the full lifecycle. Discovery, build, eval, launch, and the unglamorous months afterward where an agent goes from good to genuinely reliable. Work directly with the people whose problem it is. You'll sit with leaders at global enterprises, extract the process from their heads, and decide what should be an agent, what should be a workflow, and what should stay human. Push your work back into the platform. The best patterns you find in the field become part of Ema's core product
