Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join: Passport & Commerce builds the trusted account and commerce foundation that lets anyone, anywhere, become part of the Airbnb community — from their first sign-up, through the profile and connections they build, to every booking, benefit, and business transaction along the way. We're a newly formed org within Guest & Host that brings together identity and commerce foundations under one roof. Our mission is to move Airbnb beyond the transaction — building a world where accounts create trust, value sticks, and the benefits our community earns travel with them, and their businesses, wherever they go. You'll work closely with Payments and Wallet engineering, Identity & Privacy, Profile & Community, and Guest & Host product, design, and data science partners as we stand up this team's roadmap and technical foundations. The Difference You Will Make: As a Senior Software Engineer on the iOS team within Passport & Commerce, you will build the iOS experiences that bring various account features to life for millions of guests and hosts. You'll own complex features end-to-end, from technical design through launch, working closely with your backend, Android, and design counterparts. Success in this role looks like shipping reliable, performant iOS experiences that reach parity with our Android and web surfaces, establishing patterns other engineers build on as the iOS presence for this team grows, and becoming a trusted technical voice for iOS within Passport & Commerce. P.S: We highly recommend reading The "API-First World" graphic novel to understand the bigger picture and our vision at Postman. The Opportunity We are looking for an ambitious frontend engineer to own bigger and bigger portions of our UX, as part of an 0-1 initiative. With Postman Insights , our vision is to help guide a developer with little previous experience—in both the system being monitored and the Postman API Platform—to productively find and fix issues. Our goal is to be able to help any developer locate API endpoints causing potential issues within 15 minutes of signing up for an account. This will empower even a new developer to find and fix issues in their first days on the job, as easily as they can call an API today. As we prepare to launch our open beta, we’re looking for a frontend software engineer to help us bring our Postman Insights product to life. Right now, we’ve launched an alpha to a small number of users and have learned a lot from that launch. To deliver our intended developer experience, we’ll need to iterate with our users to get the UX right. We’re looking for an engineer who can focus on the frontend, excited about designing and refining the user interface on a weekly basis to get our product ready for a larger number of users.
