Job description

Mitek (NASDAQ: MITK) is a global leader in digital & biometric identity authentication, fraud prevention, and mobile deposit solutions. Our verified identity platform and advanced image capture solutions are built on the latest advancements in biometric recognition, artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning, and trusted by over 7,500 organizations worldwide. We are headquartered in San Diego, California, with operations in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Mexico, and the Netherlands. Visit us at www.miteksystems.com. We are Virtual 1st! Whether you choose to work remotely from your home office or in-person from one of Mitek’s offices, our practices, processes and tools are designed to enable your success. At Mitek, the Future of Work is about flexibility and preference wherever and whenever we are working. Because we care about our candidates, employees and customers, we include an in-person meeting as part of our hiring process. It’s one of the ways we live our mission to “Protect What’s Real.” At Mitek, we believe that teams are more resilient, effective, and innovative when they benefit from a wide range of ideas, lived experiences, and perspectives. The strength of our organization is deeply rooted in the people who power it. We know that a workforce reflecting the richness of our communities and customers helps us better serve their needs. As our Data Collection Operations Manager, you’ll hire, develop, and lead a four-person team creating image datasets used to train machine learning models for identity verification and fraud detection. You’ll oversee collection quality, project delivery, secure working practices, and continuous improvement while supporting the team with hands-on collection and basic equipment troubleshooting. The work being managed can include tasks such as printing out IDs for the system to detect as printouts, printing out generated face images as masks, taking photos of these simulated attacks with different mobile devices or tablets, and tagging them with the exact scenario being collected. This manager will need to provide feedback to the team on their mistakes and how to work more effectively. Mitek operates with a Virtual 1st approach; however, this position requires working onsite at our Amsterdam office five days per week because of the physical collection activities and secure handling of sensitive materials. What You'll Do (Essential Responsibilities)

  • Maintain a secure, organized collection workspace and ensure the team follows established procedures for handling sensitive data, documents, and equipment.
  • Measure the performance of the team and suggest and implement new practices and tool updates to improve team efficiency.

  • Managerial Responsibilities

  • What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or management, or relevant experience
  • English communication skills sufficient to explain procedures, coach team members, and report progress to international stakeholders
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching employees, reviewing performance, setting priorities, and participating in hiring.

    • Experience with moving and hooking up computer peripherals and coordinating the use of shared devices within a team
    • Experience in a multi-office company where leadership and other collaborating teams are not in the same physical location

    • Experience with entry-level IT work
    • Experience working with Windows and MacOS computers
