Job description
Melting HOD – Job Description Position: Head of Department – Melting Department: Melting Reports To: Plant Head Key Responsibilities Plan, manage, and control all melting . Ensure correct charge mix, alloy additions, and chemical composition as per specifications. Achieve production targets with optimum yield, controlled power consumption, and minimum melting loss. Monitor furnace parameters, refractory life, and maintenance schedules. Implement and maintain SOPs for melting, pouring temperature, and metal quality. Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental norms. Analyze melting-related defects and take corrective and preventive actions. Train and develop operators and supervisors in best melting practices.
