Job description
Position Objective: Performs preventive and corrective maintenance functions on hospital air conditioning, heating, air supply, and refrigeration systems. Essential Job Duties: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on all boiler and HVAC plant equipment, including maintaining order and cleanliness within the boiler room. (On second and third shift, perform corrective maintenance and emergency repairs throughout the Medical Center). Makes rounds of the boiler room and designated auxiliary machinery spaces to monitor equipment and operations. Performs required safety test on boilers on every shift, recording readings every two hours on critical plant equipment in service. Checks water levels on all heating and cooling systems in use. Educational/Experience Requirements: The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent One or more years of specialized training in appropriate technical fields consisting of carpentry, painting, light construction; Must be familiar with basic mechanical tools Three to five years’ experience in Plant Operations Required License/Certifications: Valid Maryland drivers license and a driving record with no more than two (2) points; First Grade Stationary Plant Engineer License from the State of Maryland or must obtain licensure within (6) months of the hire date; Universal CFC Certification (EPA) preferred
