Job description
This position is primarily responsible for representing the YMCA personally and in a professional manner in accordance with the mission and goals of the YMCA of Greater Boston. Under the leadership and direction of the Director of Operations, this position is also responsible for the planning and implementation of youth development and teen activities, ensuring that the program participants receive a quality experience which maintains health and safety as a priority. The programs should include informal, educational and recreational activities which are appropriate for each age and stage of development and support the Y’s 3 focus areas; Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES: • Help to develop and implement quality programs to meet the needs of middle and high school students, ensuring that YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures are being enforced and respected; High School Diploma or GED • Some college courses dealing with youth education and human services; At least one year direct experience working with middle and high school students; REQUIRED TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS: • Child Abuse Prevention • Respect in the Workplace • CPR, First Aid • Driver’s License preferred • Food Safety Training • Others to be determined KEY GOALS: • The teen program will serve a minimum of 15 teens on a daily basis
