Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career. About the team Abuse Control Engineering (ACE) is Stripe’s rapid-response technical defense and control incubator. When urgent abuse vectors emerge, ACE uses real-world attacker telemetry to prototype, test, and deploy software safeguards before vulnerabilities can be exploited at scale. We partner closely with Fraud, Risk, Abuse Research, and Product Engineering to run rigorous experiments that balance effective risk mitigation with legitimate user activity and conversion. Operating as both a strike team and an incubator, ACE builds automated regression suites to prevent threats from recurring and transfers mature controls to long-term product owners across Stripe. What you’ll do As an Abuse Control Engineer on the ACE team, you will design, prototype, and incubate technical defenses that safeguard Stripe’s financial ecosystem against complex, cross-cutting abuse vectors. When emerging threat patterns reveal weaknesses in Stripe products, ACE rapidly builds and experiments with technical safeguards. Guided by empirical evidence and Stripe’s Fraud Taxonomy 3.0 (FT3) framework, you will translate threat intelligence into precise technical control requirements, such as API rate limits, step-up challenges, parameter validation, and pre-debit holds. You will run experiments to evaluate risk reduction against the impact on legitimate user conversion, carefully balancing security and product velocity. You will manage controls through a structured incubation life

About the Team At OpenAI, our User Safety & Risk Operations (USRO) team helps protect our products and users from abuse, fraud, safety risks, and other forms of misuse. We translate real-world user and operational signals into timely decisions, practical interventions, and improvements to our products and systems. This role will take on new, ambiguous, or underdeveloped operational risks and help mature them into scalable capabilities. We work across USRO and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Product Policy, Legal, Safety, Support, and external vendors or partnership stakeholders. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Operations Analyst to take on complex, ambiguous safety and risk problems and turn them into practical operational solutions that can scale. This is a senior individual-contributor role for a versatile operator who is comfortable moving between queues, investigation, analysis, workflow design, hands-on execution, and cross-functional leadership. Depending on team needs, the role may focus on emerging-risk incubation, cloud deployment partnerships, or other new operational areas. You will be expected to move quickly, work hands-on, and create structure without waiting for perfect requirements or a large support team. The work starts with the problem, not a prescribed process. You may investigate unstructured user signals, stand up a lightweight workflow, build an AI-assisted tool, improve an existing operation, or help a new launch become operationally ready. The goal is to produce durable systems that other people can run, not simply complete a series of individual tasks. The portfolio will change with company priorities and may span established harm areas, emerging-risk incubation, cloud deployments and partnerships, device safety, or new product launches. Some hires may focus primarily on cloud deployment operations, including launch readiness, partner coordination, safety workflows, and operational monitoring. You will ty

About the Team At OpenAI, the User Safety & Risk Operations (USRO) team helps protect our products and users from abuse, fraud, safety risks, and other forms of misuse. We operate at the front line of real-world safety and risk management, translating user and operational signals into timely decisions, effective interventions, and improvements to our systems. This role sits on a team focused on building operational capacity for new, ambiguous, and fast-moving company priorities. The team defines what needs to be built, creates the operating model to support it, and works with partner teams to make the work scalable and durable over time. About the Role We are looking for a senior program manager to build the safety, quality, and risk operations supporting a new category of consumer devices. You will translate ambiguous product risks and evolving requirements into practical operating models, workflows, escalation paths, launch-readiness plans, and cross-functional decision-making. This is a foundational role: the systems you build will shape how OpenAI launches, monitors, and improves a new category of consumer devices safely at scale. You will help establish how potential safety incidents, product-quality concerns, sensitive customer escalations, privacy-sensitive issues, and other emerging device risks are identified, investigated, resolved, and incorporated into product and operational improvements. You will turn incomplete requirements into practical workflows, decision rights, launch plans, quality controls, measurement, and durable ownership. The role centers on program building, operational judgment, and execution.
