Hyliion is committed to creating innovative solutions that enable clean, flexible and affordable electricity production. The Company’s primary focus is to develop distributed power generators that can operate on various fuel sources to future-proof against an ever-changing energy economy. Job Purpose The Senior Manager, Assembly Operations is responsible for Core, Module, and Harness Assembly at the Cedar Park, Texas facility as KARNO production moves from development builds to repeatable production. Hyliion designs and builds the KARNO Power Module, a fuel-agnostic linear generator for data center, commercial and industrial, and defense applications, combining additive manufacturing with precision electromechanical assembly. The position runs the shop floor through Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) performance, builds the standard work and discipline that make production predictable, and develops supervisors into front-line leaders. Designs are maturing, work instructions are evolving, and some assemblies are still being productionized, so the position brings structure to that environment without slowing the build. Continuous improvement is part of the daily work of the role. Leadership is exercised on the production floor by listening to the people doing the work and solving problems alongside them, with high standards and accountability delivered with respect. AI at Hyliion At Hyliion, AI is core to how we work. We equip every team member with leading AI tools and count on you to use them — to move faster, solve harder problems, and help us realize the full potential of KARNO technology for the world. Duties and Responsibilities Own Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) performance across Core, Module, and Harness Assembly, with defined metrics, visual management, and daily tiered accountability. The Continuous Profiler team at Datadog is building a cutting-edge continuous profiling product that has low enough overhead to run continuously in production, unlocking insights into how customer applications perform under real workloads at scale. As AI reshapes software development and teams lose touch with how their code works and interacts with the hardware, this capability is becoming more essential than ever, for humans and AI alike. Today the information produced by our profilers is used for everything from automatic performance tuning to root cause analysis. As a distributed systems engineer on the profiling team, you will be contributing to the systems that intake, process, index, store and make sense of the data collected. You will be working with some of the best runtime engineers, visualization experts, data scientists and designers in the industry on challenging and fun problems. Together, we contribute to runtime ecosystems such as Go and tackle novel problems, from profiling asynchronous Python applications to helping customers solve memory leaks in their applications . At Datadog, we place value in our office culture: the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them. Hyliion is committed to creating innovative solutions that enable clean, flexible and affordable electricity production. The Company’s primary focus is to develop distributed power generators that can operate on various fuel sources to future-proof against an ever-changing energy economy. Job Purpose The Senior Manufacturing Engineer serves as the senior technical authority for assembly process and equipment design within the Industrialization team. This position designs the assembly lines, fixtures, and material flow systems that convert KARNO prototype and development builds into repeatable, scalable production operations — and then systematically removes waste, labor content, and variation from those operations. Working closely with industrialization leadership, design engineering, production, quality, and supply chain, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer owns the most complex assembly value streams end to end: line and station design, fixture and tooling design, material presentation and handling, process qualification, and continuous waste reduction. This position sets the technical standard for how assembly processes are designed and documented at Hyliion, provides mentorship and design review for other manufacturing engineers, and is accountable for measurable improvement in cycle time, first-pass yield, labor content, and ergonomics across the assembly areas. This team owns what it takes for an organization to trust the AI it runs in production, from the GPU infrastructure that trains and serves models, to the agents and LLM systems built on top of it, to the cost and return those systems deliver to the business. When something fails, this team's work explains why and shows how it's affecting the outcomes customers actually care about. It's a fast-moving space with few established patterns, which gives this team real room to define what best-in-class looks like. As Senior Design Manager, you'll lead a team of four designers across these three connected product areas, going deep enough on the domain (AI training and development workflows, evaluations, GPU infrastructure, agent debugging) to raise the quality bar, sharpen the product point of view, and mentor the team already doing this work. This is a leadership role built around modern, AI-native design practice: you'll lead and grow a team that builds directly in code rather than handing off static mocks, and you should have the capability to prototype and ship yourself where it has the most impact. What You'll Do: Go deep on the domain (AI training/development workflows, evals, GPU infrastructure, agent debugging) to the point of having independent, well-informed points of view Drive end-to-end product experiences across Agent Observability, GPU Monitoring, and Agent Console, ensuring coherence across the three surfaces Prototype and ship directly in code where it has the most impact, to demonstrate direction and quality, not as a substitute for the team's own execution Lead and coach a team of four designers, raising their craft, product thinking, and fluency building with AI-native tools Conduct regular 1:1s and career conversations; foster psychological safety and a culture of continuous improvement Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape strategy, prioritization, and roadmap direction Set and maintain a high bar for design quality across all output
