A CTC of 7.5 LPA (₹7,50,000 a year) gives an estimated in-hand salary of ₹55,098 a month under the new tax regime, the default for FY 2026-27. Under the old regime, claiming ₹1,50,000 of 80C savings (your own EPF counts towards it), a ₹25,000 health-insurance premium (80D) and professional tax, it is ₹55,098 a month.
Assumptions: basic pay 40% of CTC; employee and employer PF at 12% of basic, capped at the ₹25,000 monthly wage ceiling in force from 17 September 2026; gratuity of 4.81% of basic inside the CTC; professional tax ₹2,400 a year; no variable pay or bonus.
Prepared by Jobiba from the FY 2026-27 tax rules · How we calculate · Updated
| Component | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Basic pay | ₹25,000 | ₹3,00,000 |
| HRA (50% of basic) | ₹12,500 | ₹1,50,000 |
| Special allowance | ₹20,798 | ₹2,49,577 |
| Employer PF (inside CTC, not paid to you) | ₹3,000 | ₹36,000 |
| Gratuity (inside CTC, paid when you leave) | ₹1,202 | ₹14,423 |
| CTC | ₹62,500 | ₹7,50,000 |
| Gross salary | ₹58,298 | ₹6,99,577 |
| Employee PF (deducted) | −₹3,000 | −₹36,000 |
| Professional tax (deducted) | −₹200 | −₹2,400 |
| Income tax + 4% cess, new regime | ₹0 | ₹0 |
| In-hand salary, new regime | ₹55,098 | ₹6,61,177 |
| Income tax + cess, old regime example | ₹0 | ₹0 |
| In-hand salary, old regime example | ₹55,098 | ₹6,61,176 |
New-regime taxable income: ₹6,24,577 (gross minus the ₹75,000 standard deduction). The rebate cancels tax on income up to ₹12 lakh, so no income tax is due. In hand per week: ₹12,715; per day: ₹1,811.
New-regime income tax is nil at 7.5 LPA, so the old regime can at best match it. It reaches nil tax only if your deductions beyond its ₹50,000 standard deduction are at least ₹1,50,000 a year. The new regime leaves at least as much in hand.
Compare your own deductions in the tax regime comparison tool.
Calculators disagree because they assume different salary structures, not different tax law. Here is the new-regime monthly in-hand for 7.5 LPA under each common assumption:
| Assumption | In-hand a month |
|---|---|
| Jobiba default: basic 40% of CTC, PF capped at the ₹25,000 wage ceiling | ₹55,098 |
| Basic at 50% of CTC (the labour codes count at least half of pay as wages) | ₹54,798 |
| PF at 12% of the full basic (no ceiling) | ₹55,098 |
| PF capped at the old ₹15,000 ceiling (before 17 September 2026) | ₹57,498 |
| Gratuity paid outside the CTC | ₹56,300 |
| No PF deducted | ₹61,098 |
Since 21 November 2025 the labour codes treat allowances above half of total pay as wages for PF and gratuity, which is why some calculators use 50% basic. Professional tax is a state levy capped at ₹2,500 a year (Article 276(2) of the Constitution); some states do not levy it. Gratuity is usually paid only after five years of continuous service.
Change the assumptions to match your offer letter. For any CTC above 50 LPA use the CTC to in-hand calculator.

This is an estimate. Your payslip depends on your employer's exact structure, your state's professional tax and your other income.
About ₹55,098 a month under the new tax regime, the default for FY 2026-27. Under the old regime it is about ₹55,098 a month when you claim ₹1,50,000 of 80C savings and a ₹25,000 health-insurance premium. Both assume basic pay at 40% of CTC, PF capped at the ₹25,000 wage ceiling, gratuity inside the CTC and ₹2,400 professional tax a year.
Not under the new regime. After the ₹75,000 standard deduction your taxable income is ₹6,24,577, and the rebate cancels the tax on income up to ₹12 lakh, so income tax is nil.
With PF capped at the ₹25,000 wage ceiling you take home about ₹55,098 a month and ₹3,000 goes to your PF account. PF at 12% of the full basic leaves about ₹55,098; with no PF deducted it is about ₹61,098. The PF money is still yours: it builds in your EPF account.
About ₹12,715 a week (annual take-home divided by 52) and ₹1,811 a calendar day (divided by 365), under the new regime.
7.5 LPA is a CTC of ₹7,50,000 a year, or ₹62,500 a month. After employer PF and gratuity leave the CTC, gross pay is ₹58,298 a month; in-hand is about ₹55,098.
CTC is the employer's full cost. It includes the employer's PF contribution and gratuity, which never reach your bank each month. From the gross that remains, your own PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted before salary is paid.
