Instawork is on a mission to create meaningful economic opportunities for skilled hourly professionals in communities around the globe. Our AI-powered labor marketplace helps local businesses scale, and enables global technology companies to push the frontiers of robotics and AI. Backed by world-class investors like Benchmark, Spark Capital, Craft Ventures, Greylock, Y Combinator, and others, we’re looking for exceptional talent to reimagine the way the world works. About IRL (Instawork Robotics Labs) Researchers at UC Berkeley have identified a “100,000-year data gap” - the gulf between what trained AI language models and what physical robots actually have to learn from. Closing that gap is the defining infrastructure challenge of the physical AI era. IRL is Instawork’s answer to it. We deploy skilled workers into real commercial and residential environments - kitchens, warehouses, hotel floors, homes - to capture the high-fidelity task data that the world’s leading Robotics labs use to train their foundation models. Read more here . What you’ll do Lead Workforce & Operations: Drive day-to-day workforce management for Clippers, Graders, Regraders, SMEs, and ICs across shifts/sites, optimizing staffing, capacity planning, and throughput against SLA targets. Implement Quality Systems & Methods: Maintain the QMS and apply structured methods (RCA, CAPA, FMEA, 8D, SPC) to address recurring defects, calibration drift, gold-sample injections, and consensus checks. Own SOPs & Process Standards: Build, version-control, and continuously iterate SOPs for existing and new program launches, ensuring floor adoption and structured QA onboarding/re-calibration paths. Bridge Cross-Functional Teams: Translate engineering data requirements into floor-executable QA criteria, report field issues back with evidence, and represent QA in program launches and crisis calls. Drive Data-Led Quality: Monitor and analyze key QA metrics—defect/reject rates, inter-grader agreement (ka
What you’ll do Own the tissue-class segmentation and labeling models for the ultrasound CT clinical analysis layer, and the pipelines that make them trainable and verifiable. Retune across 2D per-slice, 3D volumetric, and 2D×3D fusion as reconstructed image inputs are continuously updated, and clinical indications for use expand. Define training/evaluation pipelines, datasets, and metrics from the ground up or from open source; map model behavior to user needs and design requirements. Work with data labeling contractors, expert clinicians, and our internal cloud/data teams on labeling specs, QC, and dataset versioning. Help productionize models into a versioned, HIPAA-bound analysis service: reproducible/low-latency inference, per-prediction confidence, drift monitoring, and safe fallbacks. What we’re looking for Strong applied ML experience with a track record of developing new models — architecting, training, and evaluating from scratch as well as benchmarking against existing models. Experience with image segmentation (semantic/instance, 2D and ideally 3D/volumetric) and the modeling and training-data choices that make it robust across diverse patient anatomy. Comfortable moving fluidly between open-ended research iteration and producing quantifiable, testable models. Fluent in modern deep-learning tooling (e.g., PyTorch) and current development practices. Comfortable working under design controls, where model changes carry documentation and verification weight. Useful experience Image segmentation and label generation with modern architectures (U-Net / nnU-Net, 3D U-Net, transformer-based and promptable segmentation like SAM), including the geometry that ties voxel- and mesh-level predictions back to a coordinate frame. Learning under limited or noisy supervision: self-supervised / semi-supervised methods (masked autoencoders, contrastive pretraining like DINO/SimCLR), active learning, weak labels, and simulation-driven pretraining. Hands-on experience with data

About the Team The Code Scalability team owns build systems and continuous integration across DoorDash. When a shared dependency changes or more teams contribute to a monorepo, the cost of building software can grow for everyone. We tackle that challenge with Bazel, Buildkite, and infrastructure that keeps everyday development efficient. Our work gives teams a dependable path from a code change to a completed build, with fewer delays and less infrastructure troubleshooting. About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer on Code Scalability, you will solve the engineering problems behind building software at DoorDash’s scale. A change deep in a monorepo can trigger work across many projects; your job is to make that work efficient, predictable, and easy to investigate when something goes wrong. Projects span Bazel configuration and tooling, Buildkite orchestration, build execution and caching, and the services that support them. You will identify where improvements matter most, make the technical decisions, and work with teams across DoorDash to put those changes into practice. The impact of this role extends to every team that depends on our platform. Shorter queues give engineers more time to iterate, dependable pipelines prevent interruptions, and useful diagnostics help them get back to their work. You will measure progress through those outcomes, alongside the cost and maintainability of the infrastructure you own. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Evolve build and CI workflows for large monorepos, keeping feedback fast and changes manageable as dependencies, code volume, and the number of contributing teams grow. Develop Bazel rules, toolchains, and integrations that keep builds reproducible and make shared build infrastructure easier for teams to adopt across large monorepos. Improve Buildkite pipeline throughput and reliability by reducing queue times, addressing build bottlenecks, and making better use of CI compute capacity. Reduce
